Wadi Rum Protected Area

Reviewed By Susie1028 - San Diego, United States

Wadi Rum is a beautiful desert in Southern Jordan. There is a sea of rolling dunes, and dramatic sandstone and basalt mountains jutting out of its sandy floor. A guided Jeep tour of the area is the best option for maximizing your time, which will give you views of the terrain, and make stops to allow you to scramble up a sand dune and look at petroglyphs. We also enjoyed a "camel safari" retracing Lawrence of Arabia's journey through the desert, and having lunch at a Bedouin camp.

Wadi Rum Jordan Guide

If you're looking for an intimate and authentic experience of the Bedouin culture and desert, let us show you the way! Led by me, Atallah and my brothers, we will show you the desert that we grew up in as we are one of the few remaining Bedouins whose parents still live a nomadic life in the desert. We offer many different types of tours such as multiple-day trekking tours, desert discovery tours in a 4x4 or camel, light hiking tours or a mixture of all! In addition to taking you to the popular tourist spots, we will show you seldom visited locations with spectacular views and reveal to you the hidden gems of Wadi Rum. We always finish our day with a spectacular desert sunset and a traditional Bedouin dinner around a campfire. We'll sleep under the stars or for that extra Bedouin touch, we can spend the night under our parents' goat-haired tent, listening to our father playing Rababa Bedouin music. Contact us to book your tour soon!

This is the land that the Bedouin call home, the land that Lawrence of Arabia fought for and the land that ancient cultures, like the Nabataen (same people who built Petra), have marked with their art. Here the desert is a part of life for the thousands of Bedouin who still live here. Although many have chosen to inhabit Rum Village, with some of the conveniences of modern life

Wadi Rum Zain Tours

Dear guests, My name is Ahmed. I am a Bedouin and I like to sleep under the stars. Even when I'm home, I sleep on the roof of my house. Instead of going to college, I decided to stay in Wadi Rum and join my father in our family business. My family is born in the desert, as children we played in the sand, we got to know the best spots in the protected area of Wadi Rum. I am happy that I can be in the place that I love and share this love with you, my guests. The desert is, and will always be, my playground. When you come to visit me, we will go offroad in my jeep, we see caves, drink traditional tea with my Bedouin friends, listen to our music, slide off sand dunes, hike, climb, ride camels, make campfires in the desert and tell stories. We have a camp with magic tents (because everyone always sleeps great), dining room, homecooked meals, washrooms and ...stars. Our stars are the best in Wadi Rum. That's why I also want to take you to sleep under the stars with me. Welcome!
