July 13, 2021 Alida England

Arts, entertainment, fashion, history and nature: Incheon has it all (and more)! The city is undergoing an extravagant real estate development, with a projected finish date of 2015. It also expects a large number of visitors for its 2014 Asian Games. Visitors can peruse designer shops in the Bupyeong district, enjoy events at the Arts Centre or discover local history at Liberty Park and Independence Memorial Hall. Head to the country's only official Chinatown for authentic cuisine and souvenirs. A ferry rides to the nearby islands is the perfect escape from the excitement of the city.

Incheon Airport Transit Tour

Reviewed By sharonhW264WM - Las Vegas, United States

We had a 10-hour layover in Inchon Airport and discovered that they offer in-transit travelers a variety of tours of varying lengths to Seoul and other areas—even one to the North Korean border-- free of charge. We took advantage of this amazing opportunity and had a wonderful English-speaking guide who gave us much history and cultural background as we traveled through beautiful countryside and the outskirts of Seoul to Jeondeungsa Temple (oldest Buddhist Temple in Korea—built in the late 4th C—rebuilt 13th C). The grounds, with many small temples, shrines, and bells, were magical and the chanting of the monks generated such a peaceful atmosphere. There was also a lovely teahouse and gift shop. We also stopped at the Deokjinjin Fortress, a beautiful temple-like structure mounted high atop the cliffs, with amazing views of the river below. This structure was a strategic point of the outer castle wall used for defending the Ganghwa Straits during the Goryeo Dynasty (918-1392), the French invasion (1866), and the American invasion (1871). If you ever find yourself with time in Inchon Airport, take advantage of this amazing opportunity!

AREX (Airport Railroad Express)

Reviewed By LichfieldBoy

We decided to stay in Seoul for two nights on our way home. Rather than carry heavy bags around the city we booked a hotel in Onseo which is close to the airport. We bought T-money cards at the airport which meant we could initially use the AREX all stop train to get to our hotel (10 minute journey). The next 2 days we used then AREX alll stop train to get in and out of Seoul from Onseo (40 minutes each way) and do all of our sightseeing. The T-money card could also be used on the subway so it meant getting around the city was easy, it is also very cheap. AREX was clean and quick with plenty of space for suitcases so it was perfect for us.

Incheon Bridge

Reviewed By jajavalB - Lampang, Thailand

This 21 km long bridge connecting mainland and airport island, it takes about 20 minutes to pass , with toll gate of 20USD fee. So flagging taxi to and from airport,it's luxurious transportation but extremely expensive. The bridge run in east west direction so it's picturesque of korean sea on clear sky days.Unfortunately, it's foggy and cold freezy day during my visit.

I really recommend this! Ganghwa island has stunning views, especially when you go to the Seaside Resort, you can go up by the cable car and go all the way down by riding a luge cart!! It was my first experience and I really enjoyed it~ must try!
