Coleton Fishacre

Reviewed By JandAre

Third visit to this beautiful house. The grounds are magnificent and stretch down to the river. Unusual plants everywhere adding so much colour and interest. This is by far my favourite NT property - the warm feel of the house coupled with stunning views and beautifully designed and planted gardens surpass all the others.

Paddle Steamer Kingswear Castle

The paddle steamer Kingswear Castle is the last remaining coal-fired paddle steamer in operation in the UK today. She was built in 1924 at Philip & Son of Dartmouth. The Paddle Steamer Preservation Society spent 15 years fully restoring her to her former glory offering river trips on the Medway from 1985. In late 2012, she returned to the home waters of the River Dart after an absence of 47 years.
