Monastery of Ljubostinja

One of the most beautiful churches with very nice facade decorations, but with damaged inside paintings. Once they had great red wine from their own vineyard but not anymore.

Oplenac

Reviewed By belgrade_bro - Belgrade, Serbia

In the very heart of Serbia, on the hill surrounded by forest which is actually a huge nature park, there is the Church on the top with Mausoleum inside with exceptional frescoes next to the underground part intended for the tombs of the Serbian Krađorđević dynasty and their descendants. Right across the Church standing house of King Peter with paintings, documents and personal stuff exhibition worth to visit as well with vineyards close to the Church. Whole hill and the town of Topola are just wonderful, real rich vineyard area with a small streets and chestnut, walnut trees placed all around the place...

Uvac Special Nature Reserve

Reviewed By AlbertSalichs - Manresa, Spain

Uvac Special Nature Reserve is a natural place located near Novi Pazar, in Western Serbia. Really, it is a wonderful place, and there are two lookouts, from where you can see great views of the Uvac River and their meanders: a fantastic place. Also, it is possible to walk around the lookouts and see different views of the river. We came here in October-2019, when the river does not have too much water, so it was not the most beautiful views of the river, but there were wonderful! In spring or summer should be marvelous!

Manasija Monastery

Reviewed By AlbertSalichs - Manresa, Spain

Manasija Monastery is one if the most important orthodox monasteries located in the center of Serbia. In fact, it is located in the middle of the land and it is the typical walled monastery constructed in Serbia. The monastery is small and surrounded it, there are some important buildings for the religious community. In the Middle Ages, it was necessary to defend the building from Ottoman Army, so it is walled. Wonderful place and a very good experience to begin the trip in October-2019.

National Park Tara

Reviewed By GoGo2SlowGo - Denton, United States

We saw the park when we were traveling from Belgrade toward the Sargan Eight Railway and other stops on a Viator tour. The Drina River Canyon within the Tara National Park is on the tentative list for a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park is sometimes called the “lungs of Serbia.” It’s located in the western edge of Serbia along the border of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Drina river runs through the park created some very large gorges. However, more than 80% of the park is heavily forested with plenty of hiking trails.

Banjska Stena

Reviewed By tijanamir - Belgrade, Serbia

One of the best view! It is worth a visit. If you don't like to climb you drive all the way to the parking and then climb a bit. The climb is short and mild. The drive there is ok. Dirt road but fairly good. Once you reach the main view point, climb a bit further. It is worth it!

This mountain is very beatiful. We enjoyed one week in Ski resort Kopaonik. It is modern ski resort, with some new ski lifts and quite good infrastructure. A lot of caffees and restaruants on the ski slope. Prizes are affordable, food is very tasty. Ski resort was pretty full, since it was childerns winter holiday in Serbi. Recommend visiting during period when thre are no school winter holidays.

Sirogojno

An open-air museum "Staro selo" (the Old Village) in Sirogojno portrays the traditional village architecture of the Zlatibor region. All facilities and household objects are authentic. In the museum workshops copies of museum exhibits are manufactured and also, the skill of potters, carpenters and other artisans is manifested.

Sirogojno, on Mount Zlatibor, Serbia is a quaint open-air museum, like an ethno village. We visited in December so it was covered in snow. There is a little restaurant serving pies and strong hot coffee. Worth a visit. You can also find food preserves and there are a few stalls selling a range of sheep wool garments.
