Stawamus Chief Park

Reviewed By 304stephiec - London, Canada

I did The Chief! What a challenging feat of a climb. Only 5km, by heart pumping all the way straight up 2149 feet. Stunning views of Howe Lake, Garibaldi peaks and Squamish. Reviews talk of crowds, but for a time, I was alone with The big Chief. This is one of the largest granite monoliths in the world. Take water, lunch or protein and enough daylight to take your time. Not a walk in the park! A massage the following day is highly advisable unless you are in tip top shape. I'm in great shape and still was glad to have booked a massage as I was a wee tender from the ascension ????

Sea to Sky Air

We’re a small company with a big goal: Promote environmental awareness and protection of our region by showcasing the Squamish wilderness to everyone, regardless of their age or fitness level. Our mission is simple, but from the heart. We believe that for humans to want to protect any piece of pristine wilderness they must first know the exhilaration that comes from spending time in the mountains and oceans. Sea To Sky Air was created so that you don’t have to be a seasoned hiker, a backpacker, or a bold adventurer to experience the super, natural Squamish attractions that lay in our protected parks, ecological reserves, and conservancies. In our small aircraft and floatplanes everyone has the chance to experience the enjoyment of being amongst ancient mountains, plateaus, valleys, lakes, rivers, fjords, and wetlands, without the need for expert knowledge or backcountry equipment. We hope that once you see what’s out there you’ll want to protect it, too.

West Coast Wonders

We provide guided adventures in Squamish led by local guides who love their own backyard. Our activities range from day hikes to canoe trips to rock climbing. Book with us and we will show you why Squamish is called the 'outdoor recreation capital of Canada', and why it is 'hardwired for adventure'. We are the only operator guiding the classic Echo Lake hike, a real adventure not a mass market tourist trip. The same applies for High Falls Creek and Watersprite Lake. We specialise in trips that are out of the ordinary and take you to the places that are less visited and away from the mass market. Come with us and see what Squamish is really about.
