The building is a treasure, and the community appears to recognize the value of this local treasure. It is an antique building, and as such, its design lacks native accommodation of people with physical handicaps, but many accessibility features have been added within the confines of the limited space and severe architectural constraints.

We stopped here on the way to Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Because Pierce Stocking Drive and some other spots in the SBD area are closed (as of summer 2020), I would have to say that this is the best view of Lake Michigan at the moment. Parking is free, and we enjoyed a picnic here on one of the benches.

Fifth Avenue Beach

We stumbled across this beach when visiting the lighthouse and pier. Lots of parking, really beautiful and clear water. Public restrooms, concession stands, and free parking all right beside the beach. While the first street beach got lots of waves the day that we were there, the 5th street beach had no waves as the pier blocked them all. Something worth keeping an eye on depending on if you want waves or not!

This is a beautiful spot. Loved walking the deck walkway over the preserve. Enjoyed watching the birds along the way and identifying plants and wildflowers. It is an easy enoyful way to commune with nature.

Arcadia Bluffs Golf Club

Founded in 1999 in Arcadia, Michigan, the course is built on the bluffs above the shore of Lake Michigan and sits on approximately 245 windswept acres of lakefront property. The course drops 225 feet from its highest point down to the bluff, 180 feet above sea level, and has 3,100 feet of Lake Michigan shore frontage. Arcadia Bluffs resembles a seaside links course, with rolling terrain, and windswept natural fescues throughout. Players will be reminded of their favorite holes at Lahinch and Ballybunion, while enjoying breathtaking views of Lake Michigan from all points on the majestic layout. A Warren Henderson/Rick Smith design, Arcadia Bluffs offers players a golfing experience unlike anything in the United States. In addition to the golf course, Arcadia Bluffs offers world-class lodging. The Lodge at Arcadia Bluffs opened in 2010, and offers 15 well-appointed guest rooms, April through October. The Lodge is available, for private and corporate bookings, the months of November and December as well. Exceptional personal service is the hallmark of The Lodge. The Dining Room at Arcadia Bluffs offers a casual atmosphere, with an upscale feel. Again, personal service is paramount in The Dining Room, and the exceptional cuisine provides a truly unforgettable dining experience, every time out. Dining on the deck is available in the summer season, and offers incredible panoramic views of the golf course and beautiful Lake Michigan. The setting is simply breathtaking. The outside Patio Bar offers a casual setting, with a more relaxed atmosphere and menu. As with the Dining Room and deck, the Patio Bar offers unmatched vistas with world-class service.

Serenity.... that’s what you feel while sitting outside on the patio of Arcadia Bluffs. Absolutely gorgeous view... breathtaking! Fun to watch the golfers on the last hole from where we sat. My hubby and I Enjoyed some cocktails on the patio ...service was great! Very good beer selection and loved my Chardonnay! The wait staff was very attentive and so welcoming! After, had to make a stop at the pro shop inside the clubhouse to purchase a very nice Arcadia Bluffs hat so I could wear back home.

A really nice beach that we stumbled across while driving up the coast. Public restrooms, pavilions, playgrounds, and free parking are plenty. The waves were great the day that we were there and the color of the water was fantastic.
