A perfect family trip (although the kids are now in their 20s)! Very friendly staff and great puzzles. This was our second visit and both are to be recommended (we previously completed the Sherlock Holmes themed room ????????‍♂️ ). I don’t doubt that we’ll return again. Thanks to all the staff who made it a fun, friendly experience.

We've just completed the magic box at home and it was PHENOMENAL! Matthew has created an amazing home escape room which was just as brilliant as the real escapes he has. The magical themed box was challenging and fun with a suggestion given of music to play to enhance your experience at home! The look of the box and challenges are just as good as the rooms he has on offer. Think Harry Potter throughout! We are already looking at booking out his space style box in the next few weeks! If you want an escape room at home, this is the place to get it! Thank you Take The Exit!

We played Escape the Chocolate Factory with our host Nick. We definitely enjoyed this fun filled game and it was everything we were expecting from a Chocolate Factory and more. Our host, Nick, welcomed us to the site and got us started quickly after explaining a bit about the story. He is clearly passionate about escape rooms and spoke to us for a long while afterwards about various franchises. His clues were timely as we did not have long left on the clock and towards the end we really felt the pressure. He was a lovely man and we would love to see him again on our next visit (10/10). The theming was excellent. It truly felt like a journey from a poor mans bungalow to a ludicrous wonderland. Every detail was tended to even down to the clue system which encouraged immersion even further. The only thing I would pick at would be that some of the items in game have been replaced with pictures of the items. I assume this was to ease with cleanliness of the game during this pandemic so this change is understandable but a shame none the less. Truly one of the most beautiful and best themed rooms we have ever played (10/10). The puzzles all fit perfectly into the theme and helped naturally progress a clear story. There were plenty of them too which meant we were close to getting locked in. I haven’t felt the panic of the clock ticking in a long time so this was a fresh reminder that we might not be able to win them all. We enjoyed every single one of the puzzles and none of them felt pointless or a drag (10/10). Overall 30/30 proves an absolutely brilliant game that is definitely near, if not at the top of our recommendation list. Thanks again Nick for the truly fantastical experience.

The Humber Bridge

The bridge once held the world record as the longest single span suspension bridge for cars but it remains the longest in the world over which to walk or cycle. More than 100,000 vehicles use the bridge each week, travelling between East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, with the majority using the HumberTAG electronic tolling system.

Wilberforce House is the birthplace of William Wilberforce, famous campaigner against the slave trade. Admission to Wilberforce House is free. Recently opened galleries contain wonderful displays of local crafstmanship, clock-making, Hull silver collection, the East Yorkshire Regiment and Edwardian Hull Last entry 15 minutes prior to closing

We visited based on the recommendation of a BBC book of 100 places that shaped the UK. The museum is based in William Wilberforce’s family home & is now within a vibrant museum quarter in Hull. There is a wealth of information, set out attractively & accessibly, on the house, the history of slavery, Wilberforce’s political battle to end the slave trade, the Middle Passage, the slave experience, the aftermath of slavery, African culture & contemporary slavery. We didn’t manage to see everything in the time that we had. A great visit & it’s free!
