Nice lake, take the bus out there, get yourself a little spot to stay, walk around in and out of the town (pretty road surrounded by pretty hills), get yourself some street food or something from the local restaurants, swim around, do the mud bath deal, maybe ride around in one of the tour boats, stuff like that. The local people seemed friendly and peaceful. Great spot to spend a few days!

We enjoyed the day trip here. Ice cold water, but your body adjusts quickly. Great short hike and scenery. The hike is short, but still a little strenuous. ???????? so many varieties of butterflies. Little lizards are hidden in the leaves if you look hard for them. Beautiful day and great amenities too. Changing rooms at the top by waterfall. A+. Bonus perk, our tour bus pulled over to take pictures at the sign for the falls and we saw several varieties of monkeys ????❤️

Banos Termales San Mateo

Reviewed By ElenaIS - Iasi, Romania

We enjoyed to immerse in the pools, each with a different water temperature. We arrived at about 15 pm, and it was a little two crowded. I imagine that going early in the morning is more pleasant. Easy to go from Moyobamba by motor bike, 5 soles with a private one, 6 soles with a Municipality 's motorbike. There are lockers, 1 sole per locker, big enough for two day backpacks.
