Kasim Sipahioglu Konagi

Reviewed By korayk1907 - Istanbul, Turkey

This konak is the one has old historical goods and furnitures inside and the new generation usint this konak as a souvenir shop at the entrance and museum for upstairs. The konak is splitted to two because of heritage and the haremlik side is good for understanding daily Ottoman or Yoruk lifestyle. However the other side has a huge garden using as cafe-restaurant now and Filiz Teyze(aunt) is the owner of Selamlik part and still preparing baklavas for their cafe. Never miss eating Filiz Teyze's baklavas when you get there. Saffron flavoured Turkiss coffee and tea are also must to try. I loved them all. See you soon Filiz Teyze ???? . . Yoruk Village

Reviewed By hoteikeeper - Potomac, United States

This preserved and still inhabited village is located a few miles from Safronbolu. It was settled centuries ago by the Dervish and subsequently thrived during the Ottoman Empire. Except for electricity and other modern untilities you will see the place as it has been for 150 years. Narrow stone paved alleys(streets). In the center are two Ottoman homes which can be toured and provide a wonderful insight into life of the village. The people were wonderfully friendly, especially when we stopped at a tea house and got to chat with a few of the village elders. Our visit also included seeing the old laundry house where families gathered to wash clothing on huge circular stone platform. Worth the side trip and a great adjunct to our stay in Safronbolu.

Tokatli Kanyonu

Reviewed By KamranR117 - Istanbul, Turkey

The Canyon is pretty good for 2-3 hours, you can walk around 3-4 km, there are couple of water falls but its more kinda a walk in the nature thing which is pretty cool and you follow the water all your way also especially as its not so much crowded. Avoid the Terrace which has a normal view and nothing exciting and you end up paying 5 liras.
