This museum surprised us with its beautiful exhibitions. In particular, the Picasso war exhibition was fantastic. In the museum they have paintings done by famous painters as well as gorgeous works of art by unknown ones (at least to me). Highly recommend!

This good value system takes you near vertically up to the Bastille fortification with a small museum and two good restaurants Excellent views over Grenoble and you can just glimpse Mont Blanc over the mountains to your back A good experience is to ride up, indulge in good food looking out over the city and then walk the winding trail back down.

Saint-Laurent Archaeological Museum

We loved this little museum in Grenoble. Entrance is free, and they give you a great audioguide, also for free. The interpretation is very well done, the site is very well maintained and it was really interesting to walk around the excavations and see the different historic periods at the same time. My 5 year old had a blast there as well. It is very child friendly. They gave my son a map with images and throughout our walk-thought we had to find all these special objects or markers. He loved it! And the staff was really nice and welcoming as well. Highly recommend it if you have a sejour in Grenoble.

Grenoble-Bastille Cable Car

Grenoble is famous because of many things. The city was hosting Olympic games in 1968. This has been also a strategic city in France throughout hundreds of years. Take a panoramic ride in one of the round cable cars up to the hill where the famous Bastille is situated - you won't regret it. Besides spectacular views, there is a museum inside the Bastille where you can learn a bit about history of the city and "see" french warriors as well as french resistance in the Alps. I highly recommend. Outside of the Bastille, you can take an easy hike uphill as well as explore a tunnel or grots.

Used Bens Bus to transfer from Grenoble Airport to Serre Chavalier and the return, both trips went very smoothly and were punctual, what most impressed me though was the fantastic customer service and communication when I questioned the pick up point as I mistakenly thought is was somewhere different to the drop of point, this caused some confusion resulting in several emails back and forth, all my emails were answered very quickly and my misunderstanding was soon resolved, top customer service from Natalie and I would highly recommend this company!!

Fort de la Bastille

A must visit if you are in town, prefer to go just before sunset to get a view of city in day and then of city-lights at night. Don't forget to grab a drink uphill. Good place for families to go for picnic, they can use teleferique and also a good choice for hikers to go for a short one to escape from city.
