The province of Medio Campidano (Italian: provincia del Medio Campidano; Sardinian: provìntzia de su Campidanu de Mesu) was a province in the autonomous region of Sardinia, Italy. As of 2015, the province had a population of 100,141 inhabitants over an area of 1,517.34 square kilometres (585.85 sq mi), giving it a population density of 66 inhabitants per square kilometre. It had two chief towns, Villacidro and Sanluri, with 14,245 and 8,543 inhabitants, respectively. It was established in 2005 from a section of the province of Cagliari. It contained 28 comuni (singular: comune) and the president of the province was Fulvio Tocco.

Casa Zapata Museum

It is a complex Museum mounted into the noble residence built in the 16th century and belonged to the Zapata family coming from Aragon. Don't just visit the Nuraghi and then leave. Definitely worth an hour at this museum too. Lots of remains to see and a fantastic model of the Nuraghi that had been found at the site. Loved learning from the display boards all about St Efisio and also the info on the Sardinian local musical instruments.

Castle of Sanluri

The Castle of Sanluri is the only castle of the medioeval age that remains. Inside you could visit the War museum, dedicated to the first world war and to the Risorgimento period, a collection of waxworks (XVI - XIX sec.), and forniture of different centuries starting from XVII to XIX sec.

Cantina Su'entu

La cantina Su’entu si trova al confine Sud della Marmilla con il Campidano, nata dieci anni fa dal sogno di Salvatore Pilloni. La Marmilla è la bandiera della Cantina, non a caso Su’entu ha utilizzato per prima l’indicazione geografica Marmilla. L’azienda si estende in un corpo aziendale costituito su una superfice complessiva di cinquanta ettari, di cui trentadue vitati a vitigni a bacca bianca e rossa, principalmente vitigni autoctoni, Vermentino, Nasco, Malvasia e l'internazionale Chardonnay, i rossi, Bovale, Cannonau, Monica, Cagnulari e l’internazionale Merlot. Attualmente produce undici etichette di cui due spumanti, tre bianchi, un rosato, quattro rossi e un passito.

We had a great tour today- lots of information about the area, wines and how they are made. We bought quite a few after the tasting because they were so good.
