The Madeira Surf Camp is located in the center of the small village of Porto da Cruz, the surfing capital of Madeira Island. The town is surrounded by black sand beaches, ideal to learn how to surf. Our main goal is to ensure that all customers get that unique feeling, from surfing the great waves our island has to offer. The Surf Camp has private and shared rooms, a panoramic terrace with barbecue area, fully equipped kitchen, laundry, cable TV and free internet access. Since the Surf Camp is located in a rural area, there are nearby levada walks, trails for cross country or downhill biking and many other adventure activities.In the village there are several restaurants and bars where you can taste the traditional Madeiran cuisine and beverages. The beaches and all basic services are in walking distance from the Surf Camp, such as post office, healthcare center, bank, taxi, supermarket...The Madeira Surf Camp is 15 km from the International Airport.

MADSEA - Bodyboard & More, is dedicated to the promotion of bodyboarding, surf and Paddle surf in Madeira. We invite tourists and locals to discover, or rediscover, the island from the sea, and experience the thrill that this extreme sport has to offer! Sport, nature, relaxation and the company of friends are all part of MADSEA’s vision of experiencing and discovering the real Madeira. Not only is MADSEA's opening an important move in the expansion of the sport of bodyboarding, it will also help promote Madeira as a prime location for the sport and a must see destination on the international roadmap of the bodyboarding "tribe." MADSEA offers classes starting at 28 euros, including transportation, equipment rental and insurance, and MADSEA box-sets- vouchers for three or five classes that allow you to enjoy tours of "secret" beaches and destinations where the local surfers hangout and catch the crests of the best waves.

Calhau Surf School has its own facilities with changing room and lockers, located on Alagoa black sandy beach in Porto da Cruz and you can take a fresh water shower in the end of the session. The classes last 3 hours and includes all the technical material (board and wetsuit) transfer from/to Funchal (requires a minimum number of students ), insurance and in the end we make a photo analysis of the surf section, allowing us to register the student’s progress in each class and we specify what you have learned , done well and whats needs to be improved. Each instructor will have only 4 students maximum in order to better support them. We provides several packages to its customers from a one time lesson, to short courses. We have available packs combining accommodation in Hotel Vila Bela and surf lessons.

Orlando Pereira has born in the famous village of Jardim do Mar and was the frist surfer in Madeira Island. He was a surfer competitor and won for several years the Madeira Regional Championship. He also represented the region in the Nacional Surf contests as well was in the World Big Waves Championships (the only one representing Madeira), in Madeira.

We are much more than a surf school. Madeira Surf Center is a center dedicated to this 100% lifestyle, linked to Surf and SUP activities, which has a set of activities that can make you live a 360º experience. We are located at Clube Naval de São Vicente where we have our surf school and O Madeira Shape Room, a surfboard workshop where we make repairs and handmade manufacture of Made In Madeira surfboards.
