Nice bar area. First time here, not overly busy at the time we entered. Staff are professional and friendly. Food was good, burgers are homemade . Had the pulled pork burger . Cooked well and very filing, friend had the vegetarian halloumi burger also cooked well. Prices are good for the food quality.

Olderfleet

Bed & breakfast accommodation situated in a classic English seaside town. We price our rooms person, not per room, so if you are, say, one person and our triple/double room is available, you will only be charged single occupancy. Breakfast is included. We can cater for secure/safe parking for bikes/motor bikes and are only 30 mins from Harwich. Stansted Airport is our nearest airport but Southend airport is also accessible via train links. Clacton on Sea is a good destination for travel links to London and much cheaper than stays in the capital! Clacton has 'recently' had a makeover of its beaches and they are beautiful with little coves for miles . We also have loads of entertainment for families and just fun things to do. Restaurants and cafes are also numerous. Despite being a town, we are very rural and the countryside is beautiful and is close to Suffolk and Norfolk. Nothing is too far away. There is also water sports at Marterllo in Clacton.

Good value one night stay

Reviewed By John B

Booked a one night stay with dinner bed and breakfast on a quiet Sunday evening. The rooms are in a new annexe and are very comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were taken in the old part of the building and were excellent and very well served by the dedicated husband and wife team who have been there for some years. Own produce and eggs from their own market garden. Nice wine list too.

Perfect Overnight Stay

We stayed here 12/9/20 - it was a 50th birthday present treat for me & my husband tagged along(!) - our chance to escape our 3 teenagers for the night! Our stay was delayed for 3 months due to Covid-19. Anyway, well worth the wait! Gorgeous house. Lovely bed linen. Very comfortable & clean room. Plenty of toiletries in the bathroom, & towels. We had a lovely night's sleep. Very friendly owner. Breakfast was delicious. We had fresh fruit & a full English breakfast (1 veggie, 1 not). Tea & coffee & juice a-plenty. Cereal if you want it, toast & jam... We would definitely return & recommend.

The Swan Inn

A warm welcome awaits at The Swan Inn... This Tudor style building with its high ceilings gives all the rooms a spacious feel. They are decorated to a high standard with a high quality finish and we are sure you will have a comfortable stay. All rooms have an en-suite shower, televisions, WiFi and coffee machines. Downstairs in the pub there are log fires in winter and a sunny patio in summer.

Nice hotel.

A night away

We were very disappointed on arrival at the Hotel, overall maintenance was much to be desired, the host was scruffy and not very welcoming. On to the bedroom, shower and sink very clean and modern, no tea making facilities in room and no tv or radio, mattress had seen better days, torn cushion on the bed, furnishing okish, net curtains only, breakfast if you want to make it yourselves with your own ingredients, we payed but decided not stay, was offered discount if we make a visit next time !!

I was prepared for the small room which a double but not the broken tile step in the middle of the very cramped room. The owner seemed happy to point it out and we’d get used to it once we had fallen over it a few times! We both fell over it and I’m surprised it is not a safety issue. The ‘wet room’ really needed an enclosed shower as the water flooded everywhere and the toilet needed a good clean. The self service breakfast was not what we expected and it seemed no other guests bothered either. Very disappointing

Clean usual budget Hotel. Ashlyns farm was next door so we had breakfast there and left to go out 1 day. Second day, same breakfast and then off to London Stansted. I would stay here again as it is in the countryside, good food nextdoor and close to Harlow town centre and the Airport...

One night stay from Hell

Reviewed By Kea121

Do not book this hotel. It is dirty. It is tiny. The room stinks. It lists parking - which means parking on a permit only road after 6pm, with no spaces. Honestly, the most disgusting room I have ever had the misfortune to stay in. Thank god we brought pillow cases. Will NOT be using the shower. Check out time cannot come early enough.

Overpriced, greedy management, not convenient.

Visited with girlfriend for quiet weekend away, booked via booking.com. The first pain in the a*se was having to submit multiple documents to their own "sorted stay" portal which from reading other reviews seems to be a means of this company taking more control over customers payments. Secondly the set up is of 4 individual rooms, like bedsits but the bathroom for each is across a corridor. Our bathroom had strong smell of urine - from drains perhaps - and mould on the walls, but the basin and shower was generally 'clean'. Thirdly- lighting in our room was terrible. Gave me a headache, very dim with only small single ceiling light and as it is a ground floor property by a main road you can't spread the curtains unless you enjoy having strangers peering inside, so no daylight. Fourthly, and what has led me to writing this review, as I am generally very agreeable and can make the most of anywhere (and the bed was genuinely comfortable for our 2 night stay): i have been charged £35 because apparently the light tomato sauce marks from a slice of pizza which was dropped on the bedding has resulted in a need for replacement. Total nonsense - less than 24 hours had passed since this and trust me it was not a big mess, I would have washed it out by hand myself if I thought it could be significant. It makes me question either the ability of the cleaners to do simple laundry or the company exploiting any opportunity to increase their revenue. Sadly I did not check reviews on this forum before our booking but lesson has been learned for future trips!
