September 6, 2021 Margarita Chappel

Chonburi (Thai: ชลบุรี, RTGS: Chon Buri,  [tɕ͡ʰōn bū.rīː] ( listen)) is an eastern province (changwat) of Thailand. Neighboring provinces are (from north clockwise) Chachoengsao, Chanthaburi, and Rayong. To the west is the Gulf of Thailand. Chonburi is home to Thailand's largest tourist oriented city, Pattaya (also spelled Phatthaya), it is the only province outside the Bangkok Metropolitan Area to connect by an eight-lane motorway to Bangkok, 80 km distant. It is home to Thailand's largest and primary seaport, it has a thriving migrant and expatriate population. Due to these factors, the province's population is growing rapidly, with currently some 1.7 million residents (albeit with a large floating or unregistered population). The registered population as of 31 December 2012 was 1.36 million.

A romantic place with a serene atmosphere, the winery is a nice place to spend a few relaxing hours and have lunch while enjoying the views of the rural, hilly area South East of Pattaya. As the farm is quite large and it can get hot, visitors can choose to tour the vineyard in an electric tram. Stops are made at the windmill and flower gardens, some of the greenhouses, The Movie House, the grape juice plant and the winery. At each stop there is time to make photos and have a look around the natural beauty of Silverlake.

The tour was great and began with an early pickup from our hotel and then on to a larger, more comfortable bus. Locations, where we went, were really fascinating and we loved learning more about Thailand's history. The cruise was just the icing on top of an amazing trip, with everything you can eat lunch buffet. Highly recommended in Thailand for all tourists! I would certainly recommend my friends and family on this.

May met us at our hotel which was quite out of the way. She took us to all the significant sites and provided a very good commentary. Her English was excellent. We rode the ferry to the flower market, and a Tuk tuk to the Grand Palace. We were supposed to have a 8 hour tour but because we were jet lagged we cut it short.

We used I Asia Thailand (we used them last year) and we rented a van with guide Woody and driver. We requested Woody after good comments and feedback. We did a 8 hour day trip and they were punctual, dressed well, excellent English and very informative. We started from Patong and made our way north before stopping for lunch and then east road back to the south to the many view points. The van was clean with great aircon and wifi!!!. We also had our own hand sanitiser and also wipes throughout the day. I would suggest and recommend I Asia Thailand to any family and friends. We would happily use their services again!
