Visited the house as part of a WI trip. Diana was very welcoming, even picking up 3 of our ladies who had mobility problems to take them to the house, as direct access by car or coach is not possible. She is a superb hostess, who told us of the history of this house, which is about 950 years old - older than the Magna Carta! An informative tour of the house and the chance to view some amazing quilts made by Lucy Boston, author of many children's books. The house has Norman, Tudor and Georgian features and we had the opportunity to sit and listen to the very 78 record that was played to RAF men during WW2 and in the same room. The gardens are beautiful and set right next to the beautiful Great Ouse. What a wonderful way to spend a few hours - highly recommended!

I go here at least once a month to stock up on sausages and meats from their fantastic meat counter. The quality is always high no matter what cut I buy. While I am there I always seem to leave with a few extras from the deli counter and shop. After shopping it is time for a coffee and something lovely in the cafe, my husband’s favourite is the sausage roll, and I love the cakes. We also go to the steakhouse for lunch and some special occasion dinners as my grandchildren love being able to run around in the play area after the meal. The reptile house and woodland walks with rabbits running free and deer in the field just make for a truly lovely place. You do need to book in advance for the steakhouse as it is very popular if you want to book for things like Mother’s Day, Father’s Day etc. Also the place is shut on a Monday even if it is a bank holiday.

OMG this was scary pre Halloween fun. If going through mazes in the dark or with stobe lighting with things hanging in your face & scary people jumping out at you is your idea of a fun night then this is for you! It’s not for the faint hearted that’s for sure. There were a series of different themed sets/mazes with scary people dressed to suit the set. There are some steps & it is in the dark plus there are some parts with low ceilings so beware. We screamed quite a lot (well us girls) & our hearts pumped quite fast but it was strangely fun!
