10 Shopping in Sarajevo That You Shouldn't Miss

October 10, 2021 Velvet Mowry

Bosnia and Herzegovina's fascinating capital Sarajevo nestles among dramatic peaks, a bustling and welcoming city. War took its toll, with the 1992-1996 siege hitting hard. But the lively, diverse, museum-rich city has been almost entirely reconstructed. Don't miss Bijambare caves, set in thick forests and amid lakes to the north of the city, or Bosna Springs, from which the country takes its name. Site of 1984's Winter Olympics, Sarajevo offers spectacular skiing on Mount Bjelasnica Jahorina.

I was literally roaming the famous Bascarsija area when I was attracted to this store by an incredible nice smell. I stepped in and spent the entire hour sniffing, trying and discussing their etheric oils, hand-made soaps, and all kinds of natural products and supplements. Couldn't resist them and ended up with a bag of presents for friends and family. BTW the staff is awesome! Nice, knowledgable and polite. Highly recommending!

Housed in a beautiful building, this market has every type of meat product, many types of cheese and dozens and dozens of eggs. It was delightful to talk to the vendors and learn about the local foods. The peppers stuffed with cheese or a cabbage mixture fascinated me. One vendor even offered me a sample of the cheese.

I can honestly recommend 'Kalem i misk' with all my heart. I'm totally satisfied with the parfume I got; it was really interesting how the man who works there mixed some smells so that I can have the perfect parfume for myself. I will come back here for sure, as soon as I'm out of this parfume (in the picture). ????????
