Quirky Coo

Opened by friends Viv and Dave in October 2013, the Quirky Coo is an independent, design led retail outlet where you will find our range of gifts, homeware, accessories & greeting cards. Our shop offers well-made products for all ages that inspire us, make us smile, and that we would be happy to share with our friends and family. We take pride in hand picking our products and are passionate about supporting and promoting home grown talent to mix with the interesting items we find from further afield. We know how difficult it can be to find those special gifts or treats that are that little bit different (or even quirky) and our intention is for the store to become the destination shop for those in Dundee and surrounding areas who are looking for gift inspiration. We look forward to seeing you in the store soon!

This shop on Union Street is a treasure. You will find unique items that are wonderful gifts to bring home. The owner was welcoming and friendly and we very much enjoyed our time spent here. Avoid the tourist traps and visit this shop for truly one of a kind items. Sharon Macintosh, Flanders, NJ

The Bookhouse

The Bookhouse is a family-run independent Bookshop and Coffee bar. Our aim is to provide a welcoming atmosphere where people can go to relax with a barista coffee and a cake and browse a wide selection of new release, adult and children's fiction books. As well as a book ordering service we run 7 monthly book clubs, run scheduled music events and have regular book signings and "meet the author" events.

Stopped off here for coffees on what was a freezing cold day. What a lovely warm and welcoming place. The coffees were delicious, and, although we didn't have anything to eat this time, the home bakes looked very tempting. Then of course we had a browse round the bookshop too. Great ambience right on Monifieth's High Street.

Great shopping here, dare I say better than in Edinburgh? Very modern and sleek shopping centre, good selection of shops too.
