May be Marrakesh has always been famous as a historical city or the closest one to the high Atlas, but if you try to look around you’ll find out that, you can also see the desert just nearby, and in case you don’t like big journeys this is the best way to see a desert, just an hour away.

Hello my friends. I would like to tell you about a tour that I took in one of the regions of southern Morocco. We started from the imlil region, in the areas of Asni, going to Dades, passing by Tishka. On the second day, we set out from Dades to Merzouga, an area known for sandy skiing and mystical tents. On the second day, we returned to the city of Ouarzazate, a city known for its Kasbah and high oases. And then to the city of Marrakech, which is known for its square and entertainment. This tour took us on the 30th to the 2nd of this month with the dearest person and folded it, which carries the name (Al-Hussein, the driver of the car that accompanies us and they are a man of service.

We came to Morocco to do some water sports. We chose spot at Essaouira since it's possible to do any water sport activity there: kitesurfing, windsurfing, surfing – so that everyone in our group could do what he wanted to. Eventually we all ended up doing kitesurfing (for the first time in out lives), and it was an amazing experience! I have to say I'm really happy we had chosen Explora for learning kitesurfing. The guys there are incredibly helpful, cheerful, smart and just amazing. From my very first lesson with Hamza I realised he is a great teacher. Firstly, he is a professional rider and knows everything about kitesurfing. Next, he is really smart, speaks English very well and he conveys knowledge really really nice, from safety systems to some subtle details about riding the board. Finally he is very supportive and considerate, always here to help you, explain something and cheer you up even when things get very hard. Given that learning to kitesurf was a hard way to me, I'm glad that Hamza was my first teacher and always encouraged and motivated me even when I was completely frustrated. Also I always felt the safety-first approach during our lessons. Our instructors had always checked every part of equipment before launches, made sure we were wearing helmets and life vests, and also tracked us on the water all the time (even when we switched from supervised lessons to independent kite rental). Regarding the school itself, everything was just fine: there are couple changing rooms there, a shower, lots of equipment, wetsuits, kites, harnesses and everything. Also guys are super-helpful during preparation, they helped us to find wetsuits which fit best (since water temperature was about 18 degrees, which is pretty cold), switched kite sizes when wind conditions required it and helped us to put everything on and take off after riding. As for the shortcomings, it may be the spot itself, I wouldn't call it an easy place to start kitesurfing, since the waves were mostly too high and the water surface was far from flat, and at the same time the wind was not always weak enough for calm training. So probably it took as a little bit more time to start riding (especcially upwind) and slowed down our progression. However, I strongly believe that hard conditions made us to develop stronger and more robust skill so that flat water would be now extremely easy and even boring to us. Besides, riding waves is great fun when you master waterstarts and riding :) To sum up, Explora is a great place to start kitesurfing! It took me about 16 hours of lessons and a few independent sessions to start rinding upwind more or less stable. I'm really gratefull to guys working there for their help, support and great atmosphere during these days.

The only thing you need to worry about on this trip is having good legs, clean underpants and enough memory space to save your photos + videos. Everything else is masterfully managed by Lahcen & Mohamed, to whom I thank again a thousand times for an unforgettable introduction to Moroccan life, culture and country. I will definitely be back for a third trip!

We had the most wonderful day hiking with Mohammed. He was so informative and a wonderful guide. Some of us needed some help and assistance and ended up getting more guys with donkeys for the rough inclines. We had a nice lunch and stopped for a break at another place on the way back down. He also accompanied us to the rug dealer and made sure we were taken care of from start to finish. Such a wonderful young man! I also recommended him to a young lady who was traveling alone and told her it was a great experience and to contact Mohammed. She was so grateful to him as well. He made sure and helped her choose her accommodations and she said he was so kind and amazing and made her stay so memorable!
