Wat Khao Krailas

Named after the sacred mountain Kailaaśa in the Himaalaya, this temple complex offers good panoramic views of the surrounding areas - both the sea and the hills. The architecture is subdued and tasteful, and the hill is dotted by kuTis, monastic dwellings that suggest it having been used as a meditation Wat. Overall a worthy short pilgrimage.

Wat Tang Sai Temple

Right out of the main tourist centres (and therefore not as heavily touristed) is this attractive temple on a hill facing the sea. There is a spectacular view from the temple and a huge Buddha statue outside . The temple inside is especially noteworthy for its stained glass windows which are not usual in Thailand. Do note that for those of a weak physical disposition, there's a bit of a tough walk uphill followed by numerous steps which can be taxing on a hot day.

We were traveling from Chumpon to Hua Hin when we spotted the temple on the top of the hill and decided to stop for a break. The temple is beautiful, very well maintained with amazing views of the coastline, don’t miss it when you are traveling in this region...

Wat Ao Noi

This temple is stunning its made of teak wood and carved inside and out. There is wonderful picture carvings on the inside walls and marble Buddha statues on plinths. The temple is guarded by two 9 headed serpents with fabulous attention to detail that wrap around the entire temple.. A few mins walk away there is a stairpath that leads up and into the caves where there are 2 reclining Buddha's. This is an uphill staircase about 20 mins it took us to get into the cave (2 adults/2 children) It's easy to get to from Ao Manoa/Wing 5 airforce and Prachuap Khirikhan town.

travelled by boat from beach at National park entrance round to bay where we found path to cave. Not really a path so much as roughly hacked out steps in the rock. very steep climb for about 1/2 K, definitely not for the faint hearted or unfit. Well rewarded on arrival by fantastic scenery & great photo opportunities. Dont leave anything lying around or the monkeys will have it.
