Reviewed By kerrieannb2022We only stayed for one night and wished we had booked more, very attentive staff nothing was ever to much trouble and the attention to detail with children goes the extra mile. Food in the restaurant was amazing and great sized portions we will be back 100% the best hotel we have stayed in. And a huge shout out to Deborah on reception she accommodated us and our 18 month old very well see you all soon from the heavily pregnant couple and little boy ?

Reviewed By HopskipJumpAwayWe had made a booking originally for 5 nights starting on 4th April. We then asked for an additional night to be added to the booking. But due to a family member contracting COVID, we changed our booking back to the original 5 night stay starting on 4th April. While checking out, we asked the hotel's reception to confirm that we have not been charged for the extra night (9th April). She checked and confirmed to us that we have, infact, not been charged for the additional night. Upon our return from the holiday, we found a charge on our card for the additional night, in spite of being reassured that there was no charge. This is unexpected and not acceptable. Additionally, we had a very poor experience during our stay. Because of this, we did not want to even complete our stay but were forced to since it was a prepaid booking. We were assured by the Reservations team that it is a family friendly hotel and will cater for families while we made the booking. When we arrived with 1 child and 1 infant in tow, there was no arrangement to help families with luggage. Hotels normally provide porter / luggage assistance or a luggage trolley, neither was offered to us. To the contrary, the reception staff was unhelpful and rude and told me that we are not a family friendly hotel. It was very unwelcoming. When we checked into our room, we discovered a number of issues with the room. Firstly, the heating was not working and did not work for the first few nights. We were given a hot air blower and only for one room. The internet did not work in the room even several days after we complained. Having paid the room rate, we still had to rely on our phone's network to do work calls etc. While making the booking, I had specifically requested for a baby bottle steriliser and a baby cot. On arrival in the room, neither had been arranged. I was told that a steriliser is not something they offer. In this case, I had been falsely informed that this is a facility provided by the hotel. Had I known, I would come prepared. This caused alot of inconvenience and resulted in me having to purchase a steriliser. The soap dispensers were attached in a way that even in a "family room", you cannot dispense soap with one hand when you have an infant or young child in tow. There was no exhaust fan in the bathroom causing the entire bathroom to steam up. The lamp and kettle in the living room were so short that they could not be connected to any socket in the room. Normally, in any hotel, you would expect that basic things like lamps and kettles are already connected to power so that the customer is not left scrambling to find a nearby connection. There were some serious problems with the parking administration. We discovered that most of the parking spots, especially close to the entrance, were occupied by the users of the Beach Club. This left no empty spots for hotel residents. The parking was not administered at all, to discourage misuse. We are extremely disappointed with the whole episode. To have been charged for the extra night is unacceptable. Please do the needful to reverse this charge back to our account. The resort has still not responded to our email! I urge people not be cheated by them, especially families!

Large Modern Resort style seafront 4 star hotel with over 100 rooms, many rooms with ocean view and balcony or terrace. Two restaurants including Two AA Red rosette award winning Ventana Grand Cafe Brasserie, Stylish and trendy Bar and Miami style lido deck with heated outdoor pool ( May-September), Latin Summer Parties with BBQ's and Chill Beds. The Art Deco style resort was Awarded Best large hotel 2018 in the Bournemouth Tourism Awards, is Bournemouth and Dorset's highest AA rated 3 star hotel at 88% in 2013 and also won several national excellence awards in 2011. Rooms are good quality 4 star rooms whilst service is exceptional with stunning public facilities. The Cumberland also has the facility of an indoor leisure Sauna/Pool complex with squash courts and small gym ( bookable) at Suncliff right next door. Parking is 55 spaces and is free when booking direct with the hotel; it operates on a "first come first served" basis with an alternative on street parking in front.

Reviewed By 788dhjekinWe stayed for 4 nights to celebrate our pre honeymoon and emailed ahead to ask for an upgrade . We was advised unfortunately there were no other rooms available but they had put down some rose petals and received a complimentary drink which made it felt special. So well done for taking down note. Lovely period hotel with a gorgeous outdoor pool area and close to everything. Staff are friendly, but our neighbors woke us at 2am with a loud tele so as he was ignoring our knock s ,I called to reception to ask for help to which they called but no answer . Person from night reception then went out of his way to come up and speak with tele person which solved the loud tele, so thank u very much. Food is excellent!! As well as the breakfast, suberp .Very good hotel , friendly staff, excellent pool area and good food only downside is the overdue bed , our stay was ruined somewhat with the lumpy uncomfortable bed so could not sleep much. Please look to get a new bed in room 222 and maybe could do with an decor update throughout, but apart from that great facilities, food and friendly staff

Great views and comfy seating area. Will definitely go back.

An OK vegan meal, but could have been tastier and with more choice
Reviewed By Tim RWe ate last night at the restaurant. There was no vegan starter, we had to have something withoit the cheese on it. The french onion soup was lovely, but there should be at least one vegan option as a starter. the main course linguini was well cooked but lacked taste, it wasn't spicy or flavoursome really. Pubbing was OK, but I felt that as a vegan we were barely catered for. PS I did when I booked let the restaurant know that we were vegan.

Established in 1798, it still retains that charm and atmosphere. The bedrooms are very well appointed, with smart TV's and Free WiFi for guests. The hotel has an excellent local reputation for the quality of food, both in the Coachman’s Bar and Breakwater Brasserie.

Reviewed By markdZ1596DTWe went back to the falcon hotel again only to find a different hotel than previously it seems that they only cater for large gatherings and residents are no longer a priority, the staff seem unhappy and there didn’t seem to be a lot of them one morning some residents were waiting for an hour for breakfast . We came back to the hotel one day and asked about afternoon tea only to be told that they were expecting a large party of rugby players so we would not be able to have it I would hope that when you pay good money for accommodation that you would be able to access the hotel services

Reviewed By LightPacker828546We have just returned from a weekend break in a 3 bedroom dog friendly lodge and had a fabulous time. Check in was quick and easy. The lodge was to a very high standard and extremely well equipped , washing machine, dishwasher , fridge and freezer , full cooker and electric hob , it was very well presented and cleaned to a very high standard. The complimentary arrival pack for humans and dogs was a nice touch. We had wifi access , two tv's with free view, one ensuite showroom and a family bathroom , both equipped with toiletries. Towels were white and fluffy & all bed linen was white and clean. There was a spacious enclosed raised decking area with outside furniture. Alongside the lodge was a private garden area fully enclosed with a picket fence which was at a good height to keep dogs our dogs in (boxer dog and bulldog). All staff were very friendly and the grounds were well maintained. 2 x small dog throws ware provided to cover the settees. My husband and son made use of all facilities , we also ordered food one evening and I have to say the pizza was the nicest I have ever eaten. Only slight negative is that the lodges are overlooking each other , but there are blinds and curtains on all windows . At this time of the year dogs are not allowed on the beach (only on the dunes) , Croyde beach is very large and it is disappointing that it does not have a separate area for dogs. We took the dogs to Saunton Sands where dogs are allowed off lead and Woolacombe which has a separate area for dogs , but they need to be kept on the lead. We are looking forward to booking again circa October time.

Located on the South West Coastal Path & just a short walk away from the beach is location makes for a truly memorable stay with plenty to do.

Reviewed By 843sidhugBooked a room with scenic view of sea, unfortunately views of sea were non-existent. Customer service could have done their bit to solve this issue. It was not difficult to keep a log OR track of when neighbouring room guests were moving in and out of their house among other sound effects from neighbouring rooms. Sound proofing was not present... Dining staff were non interested in their role.
