Beautiful Hotel and very welcoming staff

Reviewed By chinwendu o

Our stay was truly amazing. The hotel is very clean, staff are attentive and there are so many activities to try out. We spent our honeymoon here and we are grateful to the team for looking after us. I gave four star because of one pricing issue on their menu, which I have also communicated to the manager. Other than that hiccup, I would definitely recommend. Special shout out to Tangkwa, Tea and Haa

Broken facilities, poor hospitality and staffs lack of training.

Reviewed By phanidas2016

@ First disappointment was the beach, but that was our bad? choosing the wrong location. Muddy and rocky beach. -@ Second, broken AC which is an unfortunate thing to happen, but it can be fixed. @Third, hospitality and satffs service mind this can also be fixed with the right training. @Lastly, our experience, we tried to give a chance to the hotel to fix until the end but they chose not to do anything about it. Very disappointed!! And this cannot be fixed! We booked and stayed in one of their beachfront villa for a night and we paid double (over $ 100) as it was a long weekend. And it was very disappointed with their hospitality/service mind mostly from just a broken AC in our villa. It started dripping in the middle of the night (it was over our bed), we tried to ignored it and turned our heads to the other side of the bed, but it keep dripping and getting worse soaked up half of our bed. So, we couldn't sleep any longer and decided to seek help by calling reception, but one answer. We then walked up and found a security guy, he went to wake someone up, who he called Captain. We explained our problem to the Captain and politely asked him to please open a new room for us to sleep. He has to call another person to help us (someone from reception office), and go back to his room. We were waiting for 15-20 mins at the lobby and a lady turned up walking here and there and not a word from her. She then handed the key of a new room to us said "the new room is next to your room". There is absolutely NO hospitality manner at all from these two staffs, not even a simple "Sorry for the inconvenience". And I would expect someone to walk us to our new room, not letting us go in the dark at nearly 4am. We expected that we'd be treated better and our issue from last night would at least being recognised with the price we paid (over $100) and get compensation for that really. But nothing happened, so we raised it up during checkout and the answer we've got was we booked through Agoda and nothing they can do about it, but they can give discount on F&B (really?) which wasn't an option for us as we were leaving by boat. I can always accept that things can happen, but when they choose to don't do anything about it. It's unacceptable for me.

Pleasant stay in Garden bungalow

Reviewed By RadkaH61

We were staying at Hacienda for almost 2 weeks in Jan/Feb 2020 and enjoyed our stay very much. We had booked a garden bungalow which was a little further from the beach but we didn’t mind at all, as it was situated in a small beautiful garden. Location We loved the location as Hacienda is in the centre of Maenam beach. There are many restaurants and bars nearby. If you need to exchange money or buy something from the supermarket, you can find plenty of places to do so, as the main road is just around the corner. We also loved the walking street market which takes place nearby every Thursday from 17:00 to approx 22:00. Rooms The rooms were clean and had everything we needed, including a safe and a small fridge. There was also an air-conditioner (which we appreciated very much) and a fan (which we kept running at low speed at night, as it could get very hot and we had trouble sleeping). In the beginning we had some trouble with ants coming out of the wall in the bathroom but we decided not to make a big deal of it. We didn’t bother them and they didn’t bother us in return, haha. Be prepared that some small geckos may get into your room, but again, not a big deal - it’s Thailand. The cleaning staff is very attentive and does a nice job preparing the room. Hacienda is supposedly running some eco program to save water - there are fliers in the room that encourage you not to change the towels every day if you don’t really need to. Which we didn’t and we let the staff know we don’t need the room cleaned every day, but we received new towels every day anyways. I didn’t quite understand this part. The 2 bottles of fresh water every day were very appreciated though. Food The breakfast was simple but nice, it was being served all day. We booked through Booking and had 3 options for breakfast - Thai, Continental and Western (+ additional 60 thb). All options included tea/coffee, baguette/croissant/toast, juice and a fruit platter with mango, banana, watermelon and pineapple. Thai option included extra rice soup (which we didn’t try), Continental option included only things mentioned above and Western option included extra eggs, bacon, sausages, baked potato and some fresh veggies. You can also order anything from the breakfast menu for an additional charge. The rest of the menu includes western and thai cuisine but it is quite pricey for Thailand, therefore we decided to eat somewhere else. Staff We can only say the best about Pu and Som - they really tried their best to make our stay pleasant. They were very nice and attentive, we especially appreciated the option to make slight changes to our pre-made breakfast menus. They also booked us a taxi to airport (slightly cheaper than other taxis) and also helped us to call the company which was supposed to pick us up at the hotel but was 30minutes late. They deserve all our thanks.

Wonderful time, the resort is beautifully maintained with a group of cabins or bungalows sited around a pool with views of sea ann other islands. The resort is owned and managed by a Thai lady, who also cooks excellent Thai dishes on request. It is situated in a very quiet area above the nearby town. Highly recommended.

Didn’t make me feel welcome.

Reviewed By chinepa

I have visited koh samui every year for the past 10 years & have stayed in many different hotels & resorts. This has to be the worst I’ve ever stayed at. I booked 1 month here but left after 2 week to find a nicer place to stay & was refused refund for my last 2 week stay. The manager (old Thai lady) didn’t make me feel welcome at all. Every word from her mouth was either bad or moaning. Kept complaining that we come home to late. (I’m on holiday not in prison) The outside landscape for the resort is very beautiful but inside the rooms is a different matter. They could seriously do with some TLC. The aircon didn’t feel cold. The tv didn’t work. The bed sheets where like itchy fire blankets. Bad drainage smell from bathroom. Paint falling off walls. Holes in ceilings & walls. Electric wires hanging out of lights which didn’t work. The food in restaurant wasn’t anything special. Ate there twice then found nicer restaurant on main road at front of resort. The list goes on....... Because I left early the manager refused to give me my 500B key deposit back. She obversely needed the money more then me so told her to keep it. THIS IS A CHEAP RESORT FOR A REASON. I have stayed nicer places on the island for the same price. If you want a miserable holiday this is the place for you BUT I 100% will never return to save house resort WISH I TOOK MORE PHOTOS

We stayed here for a couple of days in April. Property is nicely maintained. Rooms are spacious. View from top floors is magnificent. While Covid has limited services somewhat, we felt the hotel could of done a bit better with training their staff. Drinks were weak or ingredients missed. Our first meal order was wrong. Staff here is very friendly, hard working, just need a bit of training. This hotel is up the hill from the beach, so was a bit far for walking. Having your own transportation is recommended. Would have to have our own car/scooter in order to stay here again.
