I had the best of times with Erik and Riccardo tasting wines, and later, also sharing dinner! Not only did I learn lots about wine tasting, but I also got an incredibly informative tour on our way from the different wine tasting spots (going from Piazza Farnese via Campo de´Fiori to Trastevere). Both Erik and Riccardo are friendly and I felt incredibly comfortable in their company. I also felt that the tour was catered to my level of knowledge and wishes. Both are knowledgable about their subject matters indeed, but they are good accommodating the knowledge of then crowd they are speaking to as well! Would highly recommend taking a tour with Erik, and Riccardo if it is wine tasting you're interested in, as my experience doing so was simply excellent! Thanks a ton for making my Saturday night a blast!

Discover all the best Frascati has to offer from its charming city center, beautiful views and vineyards, an historic family-run winery, and fresh local cuisine. This half-day tour from Rome will stimulate your senses and rejuvenate your spirit. Frascati is an easy 25 minute train ride from Rome and is part of the Castelli Romani or ‘Roman Castles. Things move at a slower pace in Frascati. Nowhere is this fact better represented than in the the way food is produced and prepared. Porchetta is cooked in a wood burning oven for over 8 hours. The olive oil is extra virgin and cold pressed. The pasta is all hand-made. Our wine is still made with ancient techniques first used by the Romans. Here, the local baker, winemaker, tavern owner, and restaurant owner all value organic and locally sourced products. Not because its trendy, but because it’s tradition!

Inclusions: Local specialties like wine cookies & jug wine at the historic bakery in the center of town. Fresh sourdough bread, our EVOO, pizza & porchetta sandwiches, pecorino cheese & honey and flowers, Three (n.3) boutique Frascati DOC or DOCG wines (white, red sweet), jug wine at the tavern in town, and your favorite wine from the tasting at lunch. More house wine at lunch for 5 euro/litre ;), Lunch begins with local cheeses, vegetables & different salumi and is followed by fresh homemade pasta with seasonal sauces. The meal is also served with your favorite wine from the tasting., Air-conditioned vehicle, Membership Card with Old Frascati Food & Wine - A Cultural Association

"Before I die, I want to...." see how a fresco is made and possibly make one! Professor Cecilia will make this possible for you. My class took place in a very cool bar which also makes it's own pastries (delicious) near the Vatican. Other locations can be arranged. Prof. Cecilia will guide you through all the steps of creating a fresco. You will create your fresco on a stunning fossil stone, small enough to pack in your luggage. The pigments are all natural colors and are of the type used in the frescos one sees in the churches and museums. I chose an angel holding a blue ribbon and emerging from a colorful fountain. I love to paint though my skills are not developed and Prof. Cecilia showed me how to overcome my fear of detail and chiaro scuro. She will show you how to mix colors to obtain various shades and tones. The medium itself is very amiable and forgiving; while it slowly dries, you are able to add layers and details and when it all dries, it shows all the depth and detail you put into it. Prof. Cecilia is a highly qualified restorer (her teacher was one of the Sistine Chapel's restorers) and also takes groups on guided tours. Knowledgable about the art and the masters who made the art, Prof. Cecilia also holds mosaic classes. I will be back for more and I will ask her to take me to see the museums, to hear her stories about how these artists made their works, the politics and power of the times; if you are interested she will transport you back in time. In two hours you will create something that will last forever. Highly recommend! Great for kids who like to make things and extremely rewarding.

Louisa was an excellent tour guide around the castle. We were lucky that we ended up as the only two on the tour so it was a very intimate experience allowing me to ask many questions. What really made the tour special was that Louisa took us to the Pope’s Sunday blessing in St Peter’s Square after the castle tour and stayed with us until it concluded.

The place is huge and very interesting. I wish I could have read all the explanations on all the items, but I would still be there today. If you like science it is a very interesting place to go and you can stay there for hours and hours to try and see everything. It ends up being a little tiring, especially if you have to walk to go to other places. We were unable to see everything because the place closed at 12 or 13 (we thought it would close later) and we were leaving the city after this attraction.
