We took the Ibsen from Ulefoss to Skien, and we immensely enjoyed ourselves. Our boat had a group of Norwegian pensioners enjoying themselves, which made me realize that this is what the locals do. The boat is beautiful as is the scenery. There are drinks and pastries for purchase on board, and the staff is friendly and informative. A visit to the Telemark region is a must for someone seeing Norway.

Ibsenhuset is a multipurpose centre witch aim to offer all kind of entertainment as well as a flexible range of meeting rooms. The house is a professional and functional centre for courses, conferences, exhibitons, meetings and special events. Ibsenhuset offers also a in house restaurant and bar with great cuisine and wines.

SF Ammonia is a steam powered railway ferry on Tinnsjø that connected Rjukanbanen with Tinnosbanen, Norway. The ferry was one of the four railway ferries on Tinnsjø that was used by Norsk Hydro to transport chemicals from Rjukan to the port in Skien. The ferry is one of four remaining steam powered railway ferries in the world, and can still be seen docked at Mæl.

The number one spot to visit is the museum further up the mountain. This is at one end of the railway line. But here is the other end leading out into the fjord where you can see the sister ship that featured in the film Heroes of Telemark. Well worth spending time looking around this beautiful part of Norway.
