Whistler Mountain Bike Park

Whistler Mountain Bike Park has something for every level of rider. Gentle, banked cruisers through the Coastal forest. Tight and twisty single track - perfect for intermediate riders. For the armour clad, full face wearing, 50lb. bike group there are steep rock faces, gnarly, root strewn lines, drop offs of all descriptions and more.

Excellent organisation of the lifts, very smooth operation. Brilliant variety of graded trails which you can work your way through. Good for experienced cyclists, but challenging for the absolute beginner. Worth hiring protective gear if you haven't taken yours. Check when the season starts and finishes before you go. Although it looked busy from the bottom, once on the hill you meet very few people. Worth checking out the various bike hire places for the best deals and booking in advance. Plenty of good bars and restaurants nearby too.

West Vancouver Seawall

Reviewed By JoySeaYVR - Vancouver, Canada

This is a great walk with a friend or solo. it's safe as there are always lots of people day and evening. Great place to jog too. Easy walk to good restaurants of many styles. Love to breath in the sea air. You will see bald eagles sitting atop trees, seals, ducks, sometimes otters. There is a dog portion on the walk and a portion where no dogs are allowed, so good for all. Nice sunsets, great view on the Lionsgate bridge and many ships; many photo opportunities. I even like it when it's storming and the waves are crashing up splashing the walkway.

A must see! From downtown Burrard, we got onto a shuttle bus with Whistler rides for roughly £25 each return ...approx 2 hour journey. Times can be arranged via the schedule offered. Breathtaking views throughout the journey there and the views from the mountains on this very famous ski resort leave you in awe. A must see!

The Grouse Grind

Reviewed By GreggJ872 - Mount Sinai, United States

When you get to the office/bus drop off at Grouse Mountain, you can elect to do the Grouse Grind to get up to where all of the activities are. The hike was a great challenge that we enjoyed. I would not attempt it unless you have some experience with uphill hiking or are in decent shape from workouts. Workouts that involve stairs or uphill treadmill runs are helpful. We are in decent shape and it was a big struggle. We made it in an hour and 8 minutes but needed about 20-30 minutes at the lodge once we made it to cool down and be able to get up and move around. Stay to the right to allow quicker hikers to pass you. Also watch for people that use it as a workout and are going up for their personal record times. There is another trail that is less travelled that is a little longer and also a challenge, the BCMC trail. It’s not marked as well but there are less crowds. We went early afternoon on a Friday in July and did not find it to be too crowded.

Duffy Lake Road

Reviewed By GordTM - Victoria, Canada

We live off the West Coast of Canada but often travel to the mainland and the Kamloops area. Our favourite route is to go through Whistler, Pemberton and Lilloet taking Duffy Lake Road. The reason this is our favourite is the magnificent scenery that consists of beautiful ocean views (The Sea to Sky Highway), Pemberton Valley and the incredible variety of Duffy Lake Road. From mountain tops to bridges, valleys to horse farms and desert it is a trip worth savouring. We do it as often as possible. World class in every sense.

The Whistler Train Wreck Trail

A long-time favourite among hikers and mountain bikers, Train Wreck features graffiti train cars and spectacular views of Cheakamus River. The trail was built many decades ago. The Resort Municipality of Whistler's new pedestrian bridge creates a safe, legal access point. The bridge connects Train Wreck to the Sea to Sky trail, which is part of the Trans Canada Trail. Associated trail connections have also been built on either side of the bridge. The Train Wreck suspension bridge can be accessed off Jane Lakes Road in the Cheakamus Crossing neighbourhood at the south end of Whistler from two locations: the multi-use singletrack "Trash" trail or the double track Sea to Sky trail

Peak to Creek

Reviewed By O6378WFannag - Park Ridge, United States

It is the longest ski trail from top to bottom. You can get to the top via one of 2 gondolas (one starting at Creekside Village known as Creekside Gondola and the other at Whistler Village known as Whistler Village Gondola) . Then you need to take a chair lift called "The Peak". Remember than if you take this route too late during the day you might not be able to get back via gondola from the Creekside (where you will endup at the the end of this trail) up. TO be back at the Whistler Village you need to go back on the gondola up. They usually close all gondolas going up around 3pm during winter (but check schedule each day to make sure it is running).
