We've been coming to Margate since I was a child and this is the first time I have stepped into Westbrook beach, it's a lovely stretch of golden sand, much quieter than its busy neigbour and better for it, ideal for a winter walk, blue skies and all.

I love it here, so much so that i'm reluctant to leave a review as part of the reason I love it so much is that it is usually much quieter than the main beaches. There's no 'kiss me quick' hats or sticks of rock or amusements, just a nice beach and a pool. You'll need rock boots or jelly shoes as its tricky underfoot. Best bet is to walk along the wall and just jump in. Check the tide times before you visit as the sand is pretty much completely covered at high tide and you'll have to wait on the prom for the tide to turn again.

This beach is clean and sandy perfect on a sunny day. But good for a stroll at any time lots of bars and eateries close by as well.

Reading other reviews, which talk about the lovely sandy beach, we are, obviously, going to have to go back. The day we went the tide was right in and there was not a bit of beach to be seen. However, it was still possible to walk along the promenade. This was exhilarating in its own way, with he waves crashing against the walkway.
