Phra Nang cave beach, is breathtaking! Depending on your route, you can go to railay beach west and walk through to railay beach east, and on through the caves to Phra Nang, the journey to Phra Nang is absolutely beautiful, you will likely see some wildlife along the way and there is even a slight rock climb (rope assisted) up to a viewpoint, unfortunately I didn't get to the viewpoint, but imagine its unbelievable once you get to the top. There are shops in the little resort style town on the way through where you can grab cold beverages of any sort, and snacks, and enjoy them along your walk. You will suddenly come out of the half caved walkway into pure paradise, several hundred metre tall karst formations with vegetation and birds flying to and from their nests, there is a decent size section if water ropes off for swimmers where there is no boat access for when the 40°C heat becomes too much and your forced to enter the tropical, fish filled waters. This beach I would recommend before all others at least to see once!

Nice beach located in the middle of the island ( west side ). We enjoyed sunset here many times. Here is a lot of bars and restaurants but at the same time very quiet place. Best for travel with family.

Very quiet and nice. No vendors. Super wide and flat. Really soft sand on upper half and packed sand on lower half. Lots of moms with prams. Lots of joggers. And both actually work well here. Lots of families. Restaurants along beach are all quite nice. A few little markets. Sea entry is clean and soft and really shallow for a long ways out. A pretty perfect beach for young families. It feels really calm and quiet and upscale compared to other beaches we've visited in Thailand.

We went to Ao Tha Lane twice. One in day time for kayaking and swimming. Tide was high and very good for kayaking; and the other during sunset - tide was very low but we got to see sunset. We have the dual experience. Our son shared the same kayak and enjoyed it thoroughly. Highly recommend the beautiful and memorable experience
