10 Nature & Parks in Ginza / Tokyo Nihonbashi That You Shouldn't Miss

May 19, 2021 Brandee Mangan

Tradition collides with pop culture in Tokyo, where you can reverently wander ancient temples before rocking out at a karaoke bar. Wake up before the sun to catch the lively fish auction at the Tsukiji Market, then refresh with a walk beneath the cherry blossom trees that line the Sumida River. Spend some time in the beautiful East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, then brush up on your Japanese history at the Edo-Tokyo Museum. Don’t forget to eat as much sushi, udon noodles, and wagashi (Japanese sweets) as your belly can handle.

The East Gardens of the Imperial Palace (Edo Castle Ruin)

These beautiful gardens are located outside of the Imperial Palace. Access to the gardens is open to the public although the palace itself is off limits.

From subway station T08 we entered the garden through the Hirakawa gate & exited at the Ote-Mon gate towards Tokyo station. Good afternoon stroll away from the hustle & bustle of the city.

Hibiya Park

Reviewed By warrenD190 - Vladivostok, Russia

Among so many gorgeous parks and gardens in Tokyo, Hibiya Park is among my favorites. It is often the site for periodic beer festivals and for the Christmas Market. This is a wonderful strolling park. Go up to the terrace on the 6th floor of HIbiya Midtown(across Hibiya Dori avenue in front) and enjoy a bird's eye view of the entire park. Don't miss the small replica of the Statue of Liberty to the back of the Park. Most people are unaware of it. Pairs well with a visit to the Imperial Palace, the Park's next-door neighbor, and to the Marunouchi or Ginza upscale shopping areas.

Chidoriga-fuchi Park

With the main road on one side and a lake on other, this park is simply enchanting with a number of cherry blossom trees (Sakura trees as they call it) in light pink and white, this is simply a traveler's ' paradise to start their trip to Japan (as it was mine). The correct time to visit would be in March- April as the chilly weather supports the atmosphere. The view of the lake is also picturesque.
