Gilgit-Baltistan (Urdu: گلگت بلتستان), formerly known as the Northern Areas, is the northernmost administrative territory in Pakistan. An amazing K2 base camp trek with Trango Adventure. I wanted to travel with a local company in Pakistan as it will benefit the local people and local economy. I chose to book my K2 base camp trek journey with Trango Adventure. They were local, knew the area inside out and ticked all the boxes. Office staff and the field crew were extremely helpful throughout the K2 base camp trek. Enjoyed every moment I spent in the mountains with my Guide and the friendly Balti porters. They provided clean tents and plenty of food. The highlight of the K2 base camp trek was, spending two night at Concordia under the shadow of K2 (8,611 meters), Broad Peak ( 8,047 meters), Gasherbrum (8,080 meters), Concordia is like no place you have seen before. Sparsely populated and extremely humbling, the rugged terrain that makes up Pakistan's Karakoram Range is just as impressive as you imagine. The huge peak of K2, the second highest mountain in the world, dominates the renown Baltoro area. Trekking to the foothills of K2 and Concordia is an absolute classic trek, highly recommended.
