Copenhagen was once a Viking fishing settlement, and you can still find traces of the Norse explorers here. Visit reconstructed villages, the remains of a 1,000-year-old castle, and museums dedicated to the notorious raiders. Copenhagen also features a blend of modern architecture and historical artifacts such as the Round Tower observatory – a wonderful example of 17th-century architecture. Art galleries, narrow streets, canals, parks, and Baroque churches round out the city’s cultural attractions.

I found this sculpture as I wandered the pier in Copenhagen harbour looking for the Little Mermaid statue. The statute, I later learned, is about The Key to the Future - I found this statue rather sad looking. It is out of the way, near garbage cans and no one was around it, the tourists flocked to the nearby Little Mermaid though. Is it despairing for our future!!!!! Is there a key!!!! I thought a lot more about this statue than I did the Little Mermaid statue!!!!

We sell exclusive private tours in copenhagen for groups of 1 to 4 people. All of our tours are individually planned with the customer and are flexible in terms of time, duration and content.
The 1 hour boat trip from Nyhven around the canals of the city, take in all the main sights and is great and inexpensive way of getting ones bearings of the city. The tour is part audio tour and part chats by a tour guide and both were very informative. The cost was 95 DK which I thought was reasonable in this expensive city.

During summer ( May - August) this whole area Kastellet, Gefion Fountain and the Little Mermaid is the best place to be: beautiful views, history, nature and water close by. The Gefion Fountain is such a big and impressive sculpture, but go in summertime when it`s filled with water.

Children's author Hans Christian Andersen, known as H.C. in Denmark, has been immortalized next to Copenhagen's City Hall. He's holding a book and cane and has a well-worn lap from all the children (of all ages) who have sat on his knees.
The statue is very nice! there are a lot of people taking pictures and there is even a GR code to know more about it.

This is the central square of Copenhagen, where the Copenhagen City Hall is located, and with several historic buildings nearby. A large square, with very beautiful and typical architecture of the city, worth a visit for photos and to admire the architecture of the place, besides knowing the place where part of the political power of the city works. Close to Tivoli and other must-see places of the city, especially the Latin Quarter.
