Stonemason and sculptor Frantisek Rossner finished the Statuary of the Virgin Mary in 1748. At the very top, Immaculaty statue, treading the head of a monster, with angels flying around. On the column, statues of three angels are situated: Michael, Gabriel and Rafael.

This monument represent thank of Slovaks (and our brothers Czechs) to the Red Army, whose soldiers gave their lives in fight against Nazi of the Third Reich. Although today many young people rather do not understand the importance of defeat of fasism and take everything for granted, this black obelisk stands in the center of the square to commemorate people who liberated us.
