Great Location excellent rooms.

Reviewed By ricardocQ533NB

A very nicely located hotel with very nice and large rooms, very reasonably priced. The food was good and inexpensive. The rooms facing the church gave you the feel of being amid the activity and action. Just few feet away you have the whole center of town, restaurants and bars and a whole lot of stands selling arts and crafts. The only downside, no AC in the place, only an oscillating fan.

Campamento Rio Lacanja

The Rio Lacanja Camp offer lodging and food services through a natural setting surrounded by lush vegetation. The camp has rustic cabins on the  riverside, restaurant, visitor center, swimming area, selling handicrafts and an interpretative  trail where you will learn more about this fragile ecosystem. The camp  is open the all year long, is located in the Lacandona indigenous community of "Lacanja Chansayab"  two hours far from Palenque, from here you can visit the archeological sites of Bonampak and Lacanja and also we are 40 min.Far from Frontera Corozal community  where the boats depart to visit the beautiful archaeological site of Yaxchilan. As well we offer rafting in the Lacanja river.

Nice place in the Selva Lacandona

Reviewed By TheSwissicans

Nice place, decent big rooms, beautiful surroundings, good location to visit Bonampak. Too bad they only serve quesadillas, sandwiches and stuff like that for dinner. We would have loved local food, but the people in charge say many tourists are difficult. If you travel to foreign destinations you should be open to new things and ready to taste local food.

Lacking hospitality

Reviewed By Jody G

To begin I asked for a room on a lower level because 2 flights of stairs are an issue for me, I was told no, and not because the hotel was full. So many times per day was up and down those stairs. After coming in my first day I found all the power off, down the stairs, then found the wifi also off so back down again. The wifi was an issue for the 3 days there. Noise from other guests loud in the room. No bottled water or glasses. Close to beaches but no good coffee within a 15 minute walk. I would not return should I go back to Huatulco.

Very clean, friendly staff, efficiently run, with a good restaurant

Reviewed By BKSJackson

I spent 9 nights here and have no complaints at all. Located next to a bus terminal at the edge of the Centro area, it wasn't nearly as noisy as I had expected. Housekeeping services were excellent. The room had AC and a a quiet ceiling fan. The restaurant was open till 11 pm, the food and service were great and very reasonably priced. My first meal there was a chicken mole, which was excellent, and I ate there with a friend five other times. Good omelettes and salads. Occasionally there would be some noise from the front desk area when a group would arrive, but in general, it was quiet inside. Once you step out to the sidewalk on the 190, the traffic noise and fumes were what you'd expect. There was always someone at the front desk to help with questions and tour suggestions.

Long way from good

We got the room num.1. In front of the room there is a small kind of open area with plants; it is not allowed to smoke but every now and then the odor and smoke where inside our room! The smell was terrible since there is no way for the smoke to get out! The room is very small and at the bottom of the door there is an opening. Therefore, you can hear everything and everyone. Too much noise, so if you are sensitive it’s impossible to sleep.

Family run hotel that goes that extra mile

Reviewed By topdoggie68

A clean, basic hotel run by a wonderful family. Set high up some steps there were cool breezes from the Pacific and great views of the bay. (There is a level entrance at the back.). The rooms are perfectly adequate - cool, clean and with ensuite or shared bathroom. Delicious breakfasts and dinners. Nothing was too much trouble - when one of our party with memory problems got lost on the beach, the owner jumped on his moped and went off to search, finding him thankfully! We were invited to join a family birthday party and deluged with cake. Guests can help themselves from the kitchen and write everything down on a pad. Boat trips can be arranged for whale/dolphin watching. Puerto Angel is not touristy unlike Mazunte further along the coast. There are Mexican tourists enjoying the restaurants and the beach - a very pleasant village to stay in. We planned to stay two nights but added an extra night. We would have stayed longer, time permitting.

Great location and super clean with gracious hospitality

Reviewed By Paulette C

I would not hesitate to recommend Posada Dominnycos to anybody looking for a super clean, simple but ideally located hotel in San Cristobal de las Casas. I had a booking rate issue and the owner - a true gentleman - found a good solution that was fair and mutually satisfactory. The hotel is located near a church surrounded with a large market and a Maya museum that is not to be missed. I stayed in the room upstairs with a great terrasse overlooking the whole city and surrounding mountains. The room is very simple but quiet and spotlessly clean. I would stay at Posada Dominnycos if I was to visit San Cristobal again. Happy trails! Paulette.
