The One Vacation Home

Great stay, nice and helpful manager

Reviewed By Nam N

We came to Melaka in April 2017. The homestay was nice and cute in a peaceful area, separated from other places of entertainment in Melaka. Everything in the homestay was very clean and tidy. Our room was small but still very convenient and well equipped. The manager - Mr. Steve was extremely nice and helpful. He didn't just leave us alone in Melaka but gave us a detailed map with careful instruction and recommendation. Although Melaka was a great place to explore, we only had 1 day to stay and we had to go to Penang the next day. Mr. Steve even helped us to buy the bus tickets in the early morning. So, if you are looking for a good and clean accomodation with reasonable budget and you have never come to Melaka, this is your right place.

G&S Holiday House

A good place to stay in Melaka

Reviewed By patncora_theEssence

A group of my friends and me stayed here. There were 7 of us. The outside of the building really needs new coat of paint. But inside was really clean and cozy. Bathrooms were clean. Towels were fresh. A good place to stay. Not too far from Mahkota parade. We got lost and Mavis, our contact for the place, was really patient and kind. She was very accommodating and friendly. *thumbs up for customer service*

Coach ride review from Singapore

Reviewed By avid_traveller_sg86

Felt every hole in the road, every bump was amplified. They stopped at numerous locations along the way dragging the entire trip. The coach even stopped to pump gas in Malacca. As I speak we are 5+ hrs into our trip. Will definitely pay more to get a more established name to get us here next time.

Amazing hotel!!!

I fully recommend this hotel! The staff is very warm and attend all what you need. They prepared your breakfast and you can eat watermelon and snacks for free all day. The double room was perfect!!!! They give to you two bottles of water every day in your room, and also cleaning it if you want. For mosquitoes, they give to you some tablets!!!

Unexpected service

Reviewed By M C

I was overly confidence of this place after my last visit (few years back). The place is not properly managed and run down. The lodge does not provide the basic stuffs eg water dispenser facility. The kitchen area were locked with no access also it is not open during Sunday. Rooms upstairs are not suitable for family with children as the noise tends to last over past midnight eg 3pm.

Once In Peninsula

Simple homestay and convinient

Reviewed By rlow168

When I arrived at the homestay, I did not know that the owner was not there and I need to call. Luckily within a few minutes the owner arrived with the room key and access card. Therefore, pls contact the owner of the actual time of ur arrival. The homestay overall is very clean but the doors need to be installed by a rubber or something as it creates a loud bang when closing it. Unfortunately, i have someone next door does not know how to close the door gently and always ended up with a loud bang. Luckily they just stay a night! The toilet cum shower facilities are rather small but adequate. Owner should consider placing a warning sticker on the floor when entering the back toilet shower as it is one level lower and I almost trip. Facilities wise is pretty basic and there r coffee sachets, kettle, white bread, water dispenser to help urself. Pretty good for the price being charged. The homestay is also next to a Hakka restaurant, 7-11 and Restoran Pak Putra (the ayam tandaoori and naan is superb!!). Parking can be challenge at night and u need to park at the main road with parking bay marked. Just make sure u properly locked ur car as the area can be very quiet at wee hours.

D"Riverside Inn

Strategically located budget boutique inn with lacking service

Reviewed By Traveller_SimplyME

Negatives - The check-in process took longer than expected. The bath towels were thin and old and should be replaced. The room has no noise proofing as I could hear other guests (children and adults) talking outside. Very limited TV channels. Furniture and fittings were dated and needed improvements and repairs. E.g. Faulty wall mounted liquid soap dispenser [I ended up using the big hand dispenser on the bathroom sink - 1 litre capacity bottle yet with very little liquid soap left inside]. Also one side of the towel bar holder was improperly attached, the bar hung loosely and actually dropped when I placed the towel on it. I noticed the screw thread has been wrapped with layers of toilet paper. Positives - For me, the location of the Inn is the main selling point. This is a budget boutique accommodation. I love the interior design of this Inn which is characteristically unique with rich historic elements. WiFi signal in the room was satisfactory. TV reception was satisfactory for one particular channel. The check-out process was a brisk! Note - RM100 cash deposit is required during check-in.
