This is a smokers hotel

All the rooms are non-smoking, but every other door has an ash tray outside. Smokers smoke right outside their door and fill the rooms around them with smoke. The Internet is also really bad. Cuts in and out all the time. The front desk is no help.

The Bronx!

When we arrived, it looked like a building of a drugaddict neighbourhood you see in american movies. The guy in reception gave us the key to go see by ourselves the room. There were local kids screaming everywhere and people looked really strange. The room smelled of smoke and is smokers friendly. The rooms were horrible and nasty.

Cheap and you get what you pay for, but good

Staff at best speaks VERY little English, but try to make it work. Speaking Spanish (it IS Mexico after all!) would be best, but I made it work and didn’t even need Google Translate. This is a low end motel (not a hotel as it’s sometimes marketed). Makes a 1990s Motel 6 look good. The bathroom saw better years a couple of decades ago and there is some mold on the ceiling, but it’s minimal and not so gross considering it’s mold. There’s also some rust on the exposed plumbing. The sleeping are is clean, though the carpet was a bit stained. Bed was OK with clean sheets, though the pillow sucked and you only get two. The dresser drawers were difficult to pull out, the cabinet is warped. There is at least a couple of good restaurants nearby and a food truck on just outside the property with GREAT food. I think the biggest downside is noise. There seems to be one or more clubs nearby that create a lot of music noise at night. Also, road noise comes right through the walls, so if you want to sleep in the day GOOD LUCK! Another downside in the winter is that there is no heat.

Qlife cooking class while at Copala at Quivira.

Went to the QLife cooking class today and it was fantastic. The Chef (Armando) and his assistant Lisbeth were terrific! The chef was very attentive and explained everything in detail. His assistant Lisbeth made sure that we were comfortable, and she was very attentive to all details. In fact, my wife had mentioned to Lisbeth that we were celebrating our 40th anniversary this month and she graciously went and had a slice of beautiful chocolate cake made up for us with anniversary writing on the plate. We had terrific company at the table and the chef’s instructions on the Tortilla soup were great. The tortilla soup was yummy and left you wanting more. This was a great experience and I highly recommend this venue especially with Lisbeth and Armando!

Apartamento Cabo San Lucas

Nice apartment, friendly cleaner, cool, nice decor&environment away from crowds but local noises &A/C units disturb peace.

Reviewed By MikeLondonSE

8-10/12 We three British middle aged guys were touring BC for a fortnight in December. San Lucas was our second town after spending three nights in Los Cabos. We stayed two nights in SL in this prebooked apartment arriving at about 1pm on a Sunday two hours ahead of official checking in as we wanted to drop off our bags and explore. On arriving we found the door entry keyboard was not working so we could only use key from lockbox (but the Apartment Morocco lockbox did work). I had to phone the owner the second time we 'checked in' to get the cleaner to open up. No big deal. Please lock that gate on leaving for security although the area is generally safe. Friendly cleaner who let us leave our bags inside early, well before check in, and did a lovely job cleaning and preparing the apartment. Our apartment was Morocco on the ground floor which was a small cosy apartment with a wood themed interior. The double bed had two sockets by the bedside table under the window for devices, along with two overhead lamp controls (left one flickered a bit). There were no sockets on the right side of the bed unfortunately for keeping things on and no table either so I used a stool from the breakfast bar for my friend's morning coffee. A switch on his side controlled a ceiling lamp. The kitchenette bed has a wooden base with storage and two electric sockets but no table so another stool was commandeered. All beds were firm, comfortable with clean sheets and blankets/light thin duvet. The main bedroom had cupboards with a dozen hangers and a safe box and four drawers. There was space on top too which was clean and not dusty. A large quiet fan and A/C unit (unused as not needed as a nice cool draught through the flat all day) were above the solid concrete bed. There was no TV at all which was not a bad thing. The WiFi is good (including just outside the main road gate) with a transmitter in the bedroom too (although being an open 5G transmitter only achieved 7mBip download as opposed to the login secure 2.4 signal with a 48mBip speed. The shower was quite feeble and it took a while for hot water to run through. Having spoken to the very friendly Alan and Jasmine, at Tropical Kitchen Cabo on the nearest corner, they explained that water pressures were down as the big hotels were extracting most of the buried water and endangering the whole peninsula's water availability and coastline ecosystem as they build desalination plants to cope with the huge number of resource intensive tourists. The original locals are pretty angry! The sink had no plug hole, just a grill, so clothes were washed with our showers. There are no clothes drying facilities other than hanging them up with the numerous coat hangers around. The sink had an overhead switchable light above the mirror and a power socket beside it which I used to plug in my extra LED lamp to help shaving beneath my chin! A set of three fresh white large towels were supplied as was a liquid soap dispenser. A broom and mop were also by the toilet along with a bag lined rubbish bin. The kitchen was reasonably well appointed with a small sink, microwave, double plug in electric ring hob (one of the four feet is missing so it is unstable and needs fixing or hot food may be spilt - I used a folded flannel to stabilise). A switchable overhead wall lamp was helpful for food preparation and a lined bin was under the sink. A central ceiling lamp was over the entry area where the breakfast bar and third bed were. Two fluorescent ceiling lamps were also present so overall the lighting was very good. The main shower room ceiling light needed replacing though (the cleaner is too short to fix it so I will leave a message!). An under counter medium sized empty quiet fridge with freezing compartment was under the simple microwave. A set of three knives, forks, spoons, side plates, bowls, glass tumblers and mugs were provided as well as a spatula, big knife, spoon, sharp cutting knife, cutting board, bottle opener/corkscrew, grater, peeler, wide saucepan with lid and a wide frying pan. Two large plates were under the hob. An electric air freshener was plugged in on our arrival and made the place smell of flowers (to match the plastic flowers everywhere), not our style so disconnected. A flannel, dishcloth and nylon sponges were provided along with washing up liquid. The upper cupboards had some oil, salt, pepper and teabags supplied so very useful. The garden/car park was quite pretty with citrus trees dotted around. The entry path needs a bit of a trim though. On the nearby corner is 'Tropical Kitchen Cabo' a friendly place for breakfast, lunch, juices and smoothies. A shop is a few metres away with a better variety than OXXO and similar prices. There were some local barking dogs during the day and evening. A neighbouring A/C unit was on and off all the tme we were in our apartment which was quite annoying and wasteful. It was on the second night too as well as a pack of dogs and a nearby gaggle of girls chatting loudly till 11:30. A quite noisy bar was also close by on corner on our first (Sunday) night till midnight but I fell asleep with earplugs many way as so tired. In the early morning cocks were crowing to wake us up nice and early to enjoy the cool morning! As we left for breakfast a young German chap was on his phone in the courtyard. A rare tourist from Germany I imagine. After breakfast at El Huarachazo we packed, tidied up and I phoned the owner to let her know we were leaving and the couple of points regarding the wobbly stove and dead shower room ceiling light which she said she would fix (requiring a ladder to reach). On leaving I let her know and thanked her. She sent a nice message back. Overall we had a pleasant place stay in the cheapest available place which we could find in advance (b.c) albeit much smaller and slightly more expensive than our apartment in Los Cabos. This is an expensive town! I am finishing this off and submitting this review from Miramar Hotel in Todos Sanchos. A higher priced basic ageing room a mile from the centre albeit with a friendly family and room. This is a more expensive town too!

I like the head laundry guy and the cook in the restaurant. This small, old hotel is clean and the water to shower is hot. It is up grading. Repainting walls and upgrading a few other things. It definately is worn but I repeat clean and the location can't be beat. It is close to the border, the shopping, the malls, downtown...acrossed from the Marriot and GolF Campestre and Mercado de Todos and 5/10 if you want to shop where the locals do.

The room is very dirty stains on the sheets on the pillows on the towels. stains all over the walls all seem to be body fluid. tv does not have many channels and is only in spanish. The aircon sounds like a rusty old lawn mower is so noisy. If the room was cleaner would be a nice place to stay as there is lots of stores out front. its just let down by how dirty it is
