The four of us booked this tour with Meet Piemonte. They sent us the addresses of the two wineries which we would have never found on our own and a list of things to see in the area. Gorgeous cellars, both owners where so personable and treated us like family. Lunch was a starter, ravioli and dessert, not a huge meal but enough to carry on until dinner and great pairing with the wines of the first winery. We had some time in between wineries so we went to one of the big benches they recommend us and we took photos and enjoy some sunshine. This region is stunning and we will come back.

10/06/2020 Update- We normally operate the tour and we comply with all security guidelines (the guide will wear a mask and keeps suggested social distance) We will take you to the oldest part of the historic center and walk through an unconventional itinerary: there is much to see in Genoa, but you must be willing to observe every detail because the beauty of the old city is more easily revealed to those who are determined to discover it. We will take you to the most fascinating spots of the city, which you will hardly find alone and we will make you travel through time by telling stories accompanied by the sound of a small guitar.

My husband and I recently spent a week in the Lago Maggiore area, after not having gone anywhere since March. We were and still are very concerned about guarding against COVID and wanted to take as many precautions as we could, while still enjoying a one-week getaway. We were distancing ourselves, eating outside whenever possible, wearing our masks, and always had sanitizing supplies with us. We had never before been to Italy and we had never before hired a private guide and we were not sure what to expect. We gave it a try, especially so we wouldn’t expose ourselves to too many people too close together for too long. We first read about Micaela from Tripadvisor, but then we read about a lot more of what she had to offer on her website. She was very responsive to all of our emails and questions. Well, hiring Micaela was our best decision! We spent two whole days and two partial days with her and we are so glad we did. It was soooo worth it! For our first tour with her, we explored the three Borromean Islands, getting around with a private boat. We met at the boat landing at the Piazzale Lido near the cable car to Mt. Mottarone (our hotel was conveniently nearby). Micaela shared her knowledge of the rich history, art, and culture of the area, as well as her extensive knowledge of the local flora. The palace and its history on Isola Bella was amazing, as well as the very beautiful ten-level terraced and sculptured gardens, where we also learned about the citron. We ate a most delicious lunch on Isola Pescatore (our best meal)! This island was so quaint and chock-full of character. At Isola Madre, we much enjoyed visiting the country villa and equally beautiful, but different English-style gardens. It was a fabulous day! We also took a private boat to Caterina del Sasso (partial day), which was stunning. We learned how the monastery came to be, about the frescoes, the religious order and more. It’s rock-hugging location is awesome. For our off-the-beaten-path tour, we took a very pleasant walk to the outskirts of Orta San Giulio, seeing the non-touristy side - how people live and what they do, learning more about this area and ending up at a very small typical old-time village. We then walked along lovely Lake Orta to the charming town center of Orta San Giulio. From there, we took a boat to the small island not far away and toured the beautiful basilica and complex there, learning about the frescoes and the lives of the martyrs. The churches here are real gems. For our last tour, we took a sunset cruise, again using a private boat. Micaela told us about many of the enchanting villas along the coast and more. She provided us with a bottle of wine, complete with snacks, while we watched the changing colors of the sunset as it played out in the sky, clouds, water, mountains and off of buildings. It was so relaxing and serene and we loved every minute! Our boat captain was also very nice, polite and accommodating. Micaela and the captain were very good about wearing their masks. We took them off during times when there was plenty of distancing room. Micaela was professional and knowledgeable, friendly and helpful, personable and thoughtful and spoke great English. Hiring her so greatly enhanced our trip tenfold and we definitely recommend her without hesitation! [Her husband is also a private driver, so they would make an excellent pair, if you needed that as well.] We will always remember her and cherish this wonderful trip!!! Grazie mille, Micaela! ????????☀️????

We arranged this tour at the very last moment and are so pleased we did ! The area is very special but made even more so by Micaelas expert knowledge of the history surrounding the Borrowmee islands. We were collected by private boat from the Aminta hotel and toured both islands before staying for dinner on Pescatori. Micaela is clearly a well known guide as the restaurant even made a special boat stop after dinner to drop us back at the hotel rather than Stresa. We were a group of 4 adults and 3 children. We throughly recommend this tour and Micaelas services

Took us to all the essential places - palaces, cafes, arcades, museums, markets - so we got our bearings with the history and architecture as well as the geography. Gave us great tips all the way and tailored things to our interests so we could come back and visit sites later. She was intellligent and friendly and a truly great ambassador for her wonderful city. The Museo Egizio in Turin has one of the largest collections of Egyptian artefacts in the world, after the Cairo Museum. This museum is certainly somewhere you must visit if you are in Turin and indeed is one of the “must see” museums in the whole of Italy.  With an expert guide you will appreciate the very best of the treasures on display. On this 2.5 hour tour in the company of a very knowledgeable guide you take a journey back in time to see mummies, hieroglyphs and papyrus. Your guide will tell you about the golden age in Egypt, learn about the Gods they worshipped, the kind of life they led and the ingenuity of the people who built the pyramids. Amongst the many wonderful archaeological finds there is the intact tome of Kha and Merit and “the Royal List” that contains the name of all the pharaohs and of course a sphinx. This private tour is highly recommended so that you make the most of your visit to this fascinating museum.

The tour was amazing. We went to Naples for a while, and then to Pompeii and saw all of the ancient ruins. Our guide, Eleonora (bless her heart), was friendly, charismatic, and responsible. Couldn't have asked for anyone better. Her colleague, Richard, was also very kind and helpful. The guy who led us around Naples and Pompeii, Guido, was amazing and funny. Our first bus driver, Luca, was safe and professional. However, this is where the bad part comes in. The second bus driver, Daniel, was rude, reckless, and incompetent. He didn't speak a lick of English, which made it impossible to communicate. We were supposed to be dropped off at our hotel around 8:30 p.m. (20:30), but we didn't arrive for another two hours. Daniel did not ever stop near our hotel, had to ask for directions on at least 4 separate occasions, and nearly took out some stop lights because he turned onto a narrow road. He then begins driving to what was apparently the final stop, which was a hotel all the way out near Fiumicino Intl. airport. First of all, he didn't even know how to get there, secondly, when he saw that we were still on the bus, he tried to kick us off. He claimed that he stopped near where we were staying (totally false), and argued that he was supposed to drop us off at a certain plaza. He then called his boss, who then reaffirmed that he was wrong. Finally, he goes back to his seat and drives back to Old Rome, but doesn't even drop us off at the right hotel. We got off anyway because we couldn't stand his attitude or idiocy. We took a cab and got there in 5 minutes. Long story short: Great tour, amazing leader (Elle), fun guide (Guido), and good driver (Luca). Daniel was a horrible driver with a bad attitude. He needs to be fired. If it weren't for him, my review would be 5 stars, but unfortunately, that experience brought the rating down.
