Went on this tour on a Sunday afternoon and are so glad we did. Leading up to the booking, the team was super responsive to questions over WhatsApp. Day of, they give you a series of clues to go on a “treasure hunt” to find the various restaurants on the tour. Our teenager really enjoyed trying to figure out the clues. The food was great - 7 different spots and the cost of the food is included. All the merchants were super friendly. Currently they have 2 different tours in 2 different neighbourhoods but are working on adding some more. My only criticism is that the offerings don’t include any Dutch specialties. I mentioned this to the team and they explained that, given COVID, most of their customers are Dutch so they don’t want local food. Maybe that will change as COVID lifts. Anyway, highly recommend this fun and filling tour. Don’t eat breakfast before you go!

Ticket for the Rijksmuseum is included. After the tour you can take your time and see the rest of the museum.  Discover Rembrandts Nachtwacht With a deep knowledge of the displayed art, the guide explains the stories behind the artists’ and their work in fluent English. And of course, what would a visit to the Rijksmuseum be without getting eye-to-eye with Rembrandt’s masterpiece – De Nachtwacht? Don’t worry, we will teach you how to pronounce it correctly! History of Holland More than just a tour of Dutch masterpieces, in this tour you will learn more about how the art fits into the historical context of the Netherlands. Your guide takes you through the museum to provide the stories behind the paintings that go much deeper than the descriptions on the wall. You’ll hear quirky stories about the artists, fun facts about their work, and how their work contributed to the Dutch cultural heritage. We will see the inside of a typical 17th century house, the beautiful library, famous white and blue pottery pieces, and even what naval battles looked like. The Building of the Rijksmuseum Not only the paintings will be discussed. Also the impressive, newly-renovated building itself gets a mention. After years of renovation, the Rijksmuseum has reopened in 2013 – a work of art in itself. In true Amsterdam style, cyclist can bike underneath the gates at the entrance. If you are lucky, you will also hear a free classical concert as you enter the building.
