The pleasure of good food in our Restaurant overlooking the thermal lake. Calidario offers the possibility to spend a confortable stay in its Hotel-Residence. Our Meeting-room is available for meeting, training or study.
Disrespectful staff avoid at all cost
Reviewed By Janis_kalninshWe visited the hotel and spa at the end of our family holidays in Italy. Hotel is by far below of any Tuscan spa hotel standards: no bathrobes, no slippers, reception works 9am-9pm. We could not sleep first night as bed was way over sprayed with room freshener, which was something we experienced for the first time during travels. Worst of all is attitude of the staff: we had a tiny certified service dog with us. We had no single problem during 2 week trip in Italy in any of the hotels, museums, etc. Not here though: firstly they did not want to recognize this, finally having discussed this with manager all was fine first evening. For departure we had to settle the bill the night before, and they said they would charge us for service dog! We told reception this was already discussed with manager first night, they said they do not care, manager is off duty now and they would not call her, if we want to take this off the bill we should wait for the manager to turn up next morning, which meant missing out flight! Total disrespect, avoid at all cost.

Reviewed By 186534MartinWe stayed here en route to Elba. It is 20 minutes from the port. We arrived very late-about 21.40. We had phoned ahead. No problem able to order excellent dinner, very reasonably priced. Had a huge outdoor thermal pool and indoor. All part of the deal. Breakfast was fine. Only downside was mattress in bedroom was bit soft for me. Family room was clean , tidy . Staff were excellent. Very good base to see Polonia Baratti and SAN Vincenzo. We stayed at the pool no problem after check out. Indoor pool with soa facilities very good. Just a shame we had such a long journey as that would have given us more time there. Definitely worth a visit. Bravissimo

Apartments in a country house built in 1800, recently restored, in Tuscany, Val di Cornia, Venturina Terme, 7 Km from the sea, between the greenery of Maremma and the sea of the Etruscan Coast , near the characteristic medieval villages of Campiglia Marittima and Suvereto. A few steps from the house is Calidario Etruscan Thermal Baths, a small lake with hot spring water at 36 degrees allowing you to enjoy the positive health effects of water and steam through baths in the lake, underground wellness itineraries with sauna, turkish bath, pool and much more. On the ground floor there are the smaller apartments, made by restructuring of the old stables, cellar and shelter of ox cart. On the first floor, accessed via an external staircase, larger ones. Each of them has separate entrance, a living room with sofa bed, double bedroom, bathroom, outdoor area with table, chairs and deckchair, on the courtyard or terrace. Beautiful olive trees backdrop to the house, the pool and the barbecue and yelds an Extra Virgin Olive Oil IGP superior.
Dirty Place - no / very poor cleaning service
Reviewed By dnsmarlukanWe stayed 3 weeks, so 2 weekly room cleaning services were included. After 7 / 14 days Changing towels and lines was ok, but cleaning service of bathroom, floor and balcony was not done. We did complaint about this, but they just didn't do any cleaning. Also the bathroom, floor and toilet were not clean when we arrived. Look at the pictures.... They do not have enough personell, so they asked if they could do towel and linen service after 10 days! instead of 7 days. The whole place would need some more cleaning, not only the rooms. Sleep quality is poor because of barking dogs in the neighborhood. Once they start barking they don't stop the until sunrise. The beds are ok, but too short for a 6 feet guy. The pool is ok, but i didn't trust water quality, because of our hygenic experiences relating to the rooms / bathroom. I would definately not recommend this place.

Il Cuscino Nel Pagliaio rent all year apartments obtained from the renovation of an old 1800's farmhouse, where the rooms were once used for specific uses of rural life. Set in the Tuscan countryside about 10 minutes from the sea and surrounded by the most famous villages of the Val di Cornia, il Cuscino nel Pagliaio offers a vacation for the entire family . The apartments, recently renovated and in perfect condition , has an independent entrance with portico, a big double bedroom, a fully equipped kitchen-living room with sofa bed and a bathroom with shower. They also offer air conditioning, heating for the winter, and free internet access. At complete disposal of our guests we have a large garden with barbecue, games for adults and children , a laundry room (obtained from an old wash house), and an area for recycling.

Reviewed By unterwegsmitsabineWe were overwhelmed of the kindness and warmth of the hosts. From the first day on you feel yourself as part of the family. They do everything to make your stay to real relaxing holidays. The breakfast is excellent. We spent two weeks in a 3-room-apartment. Everything was more than clean and the flat was really huge with a big terrace at the backyard of the farm. The whole place is so quite and peaceful. Roughly 15min away from the beach. At each single plant and stone at the farm you feel the heartbeat of the owners. What a wonderful experience and we‘ll come back!

Reviewed By Brun066We stayed for one night at this B&B. We understood also that the weekend we stayed in was the last of the summer opening. This explains why we saw only one guest couple besides us. In the evening, as there was no staff and the other couple was absent, we had all the property for ourselves: it was very romantic, having returned after dinner, sitting in perfect solitude in the garden late in the evening, under the pines and palm trees , hearing the song of crickets. One of the B&B cats was hunting a frog, and luckily we saved it, chasing the cat away. The room, without being luxurious, was adequate and lacked nothing, as was the bathroom. The breakfast was pleasant, also with homemade jams. Sleep was quiet, because the place, quite far from the road, is silent. Given the short stay, we didn't use the pools; but they are present All this cost us 77 euros for a double room, a price in line with other facilities in the area. So we recommend this accommodation.

Reviewed By domesoniaStanza pulita, posizione comoda per visitare i d'intorni (Piombino, Follonica, Grosseto, Punta Ala, Castiglione, ecc) economica, tranquilla. Parcheggio gratuito nei pressi del residence. Nei paraggi pizzerie, ristoranti e vari supermercati. Uniche due pecche, doccia senza cabina, (si allagava il bagno) e finestre senza persiane o tapparelle, quindi di notte la stanza non era completamente buia. Nel complesso buona sistemazione

A good choice if you're looking for a motel
Reviewed By melrockLocated along the Aurelia, the state highway running north-south along the western coast of Italy, this hotel looks and feels like a road-side motel: no special pretensions, clean and new but no particular emphasis on service, hit-and-miss personnel: some are friendly, some would need some training. In this latter category I'd place the person who checked me in, who wanted me to pre-pay my room....I refused and paid as I left, as is the case in all hotels in Italy. Breakfast was generous even if there's little choice, and there's plenty of parking. Air conditioning works but is very noisy. Shower curtains instead of shower stalls were not a good choice, and the view from the window leads you to want to keep the shades drawn. On the bright side, it's very quiet, and it's right by the station of Campiglia Marittima. In fact, don't use the street address to find it, but follow the indications for the station: you can't miss it.
