Good service

Reviewed By Lis D

The staff were extremely helpful and polite even though they were under a lot of pressure due to limited team members. Beds were comfortable and everywhere was really clean. We were made really welcome. The evening food could have been better. I was surprised there was no vegan choices at breakfast or evening meals. There isn't a lift which isn't helpful for less able bodied people.

Spectacular views of beautiful “city”

Reviewed By wanderingways

We enjoyed 4 nights in the Windmill Tower Suite. The sweeping views from the living room and small observation loft were spectacular (but be careful when climbing the narrow stairs). The hotel graciously offered to deliver breakfast one morning and this added to the fun. All the hotel and dining staff were exceptional, especially considering that staffing shortages appear to be prevalent throughout the UK. Word of caution: heed the hotel recommend to get restaurant reservations before dinner. Their aren’t many places to choose from and the town closes up early. The hotel staff offered sandwiches delivered to our room one night when we returned from a concert in the beautiful cathedral and couldn’t find anything open. Thank you!

Friendly comfort!

Reviewed By timjstark

While hiking a portion of the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, my final three nights were at this perfectly situated and cozy B & B. A very short distance from the town center, I was greeted by Orla, who along with husband Steve own the B & B. Orla was the epitome of welcoming while showing me the breakfast nook and my room. Steve echoes that feeling when I encountered him the next morning at breakfast. They both have mastered the art of being helpful without being intrusive; I only saw them at breakfast, but knew that they were there if needed as they live on site. My ground floor room was small, but spotless and comfortable and the breakfasts were consistently excellent…try the avocado toast with poached eggs-awesome! A very good stay!

It's perfect!

From the moment you walk in, it’s clear this is an outstanding 5-star hotel. The service, the décor, the comfortable beds, the grounds – are all amazing and the experience was the best we had while in Wales. From the moment Wendy met us at the front door, we were enchanted. Not only was our bedroom absolutely lovely, the common rooms were also lush and comfortable. I couldn’t help but admire the leather floor coverings, the original artwork, the textiles used on the upholstered furniture and the drapes….but the suede wallcoverings were simply over the top gorgeous. Everything you could ask for from a terrific shower to delicious breakfasts to absolute quiet at night – I wish we could have stayed for 2 weeks not just 2 nights. Special shout out to server Kim who upon discovering that I like cranberry juice in the morning (which they didn’t have), made a special trip to the store to have some for my second morning breakfast. That’s service! You will not be disappointed if Penrhiw Hotel is on your itinerary. We will long remember our stay there.
