Reviewed By Susan AJust back from our first trip to Sperlonga where we stay at Hotel Marconi. It was a very clean hotel with very friendly family running it. Nice sea view and steps to the beach. Loved this small town and would definitely visit again. Quick trip from Roma to get some ocean fun and sun.

Picturesque gardens in family run b&b
Reviewed By jewels-365We came to Sperlonga in the height of summer and really enjoyed the town. The B&B is situated out of town and it takes around 20 min to walk in. If you're travelling from Rome on the train you can get on a bus to Sperlonga. We walked the rest of the way to the b&b, but I think there might be a taxi service somewhere or you might have to arrange to be picked up by the owner of the b&b who is really helpful. The rooms are basic but very clean. There is a fridge and coffee machine and also an air conditioning unit which really helped in the heat. You can eat 'al fresco' if you have cold food, but there are no cooking facilities as such. For breakfast you receive a basket with pre-packed cakes and croissants etc. Lots of them, but if you're not used to this type of food in the morning you might get a little bored with it after a couple of days. The landlord was extremely helpful and so was his family. We don't speak Italian so communication was a little fraught but the family really made our stay there comfortable. There is a beach in 5min walking distance and we were really happy to use the bikes supplied by the landlord to go to town. All in all we had a great stay in Sperlonga and want to go there again. The L'Anfora is good value for money as a base from where you can arrange your day. My best memory of it was the lovely garden with an opulence of native flowers. Simply gorgeous grounds and so well looked after. Peaceful place. Sperlonga town is so picturesque, we had lovely walks up to the old town which is basically built into the rock. Amazing little windy pathways upwards. Sets you back in time. There are boat trips out to the Emperors cave and the water is absolutely clear and lovely for swimming in. There are many restaurants in town. We had an amazing holiday here although there were not many English speaking people

Reviewed By silvia142014Abbiamo prenotato per una notte tramite booking due camere, check in obbligatorio fatto tramite messaggi con tanto di documenti allegati, nessuno ad accogliervi all arrivo ma struttura completamente aperta con chiavi lasciate attaccate alle porte delle camere...nessuna disponibilità per anticipare l orario del check in nonostante le camere fossero vuote e disponibili. In una delle due camere è scoppiata letteralmente un anta di vetro della doccia, trovata difettosa allo scorrimento, ferendo inevitabilmente anche se per fortuna in modo lieve l ospite. Poca chiarezza anche x la colazione prima disponibile poi non più poi la mattina dell' arrivo ci è stato comunicato l orario della colazione. Difficoltà assoluta nel contattare i referenti... E alla partenza la signora che ci ha preparato i cappuccini ci ha richiesto il pagamento nonostante avessimo già preso accordi con la referente dell' agenzia e avessimo già provveduto tramite addebito su carta. Tra l' altro il check in era dalle ore 15 in poi ma la transazione di addebito è stata eseguita alle 10 del mattino.. Abbiamo dovuto mostrare alla signora i messaggi scambiati con l' agenzia, il messaggio della banca con l addebito.... Pessima organizzazione...nonostante la struttura meritasse con un po' più di accuratezza magari ma per noi nn è stata per niente un esperienza piacevole.

In a cosmopolitan atmosphere, you can taste a rich breakfast in front of the crystal sea. Aurora has created many areas in a natural environment where they can find or lost themselves. Watch the sunset from the terrace of the Nautilus Bar tasting an aperitif. Relax, reading a book in the lush garden or keep fit in the fitness center. The Junior Suite From the terraces of the 2 jr suites you can enjoy a wonderful panorama that sweeps from the sea to Truglia Tower and the picturesque village. The Argonauta suite is in the new part of the Hotel Aurora and ha its own entrance on the beach. It has its own entrance and access direct on to the beach in an isolated position but at the same time close to all the amenities.It is on 3 floors with a magnificient large window facing the sea. A gracious half moon shaped staircase leads you to the top floor double bedroom. From the bed to waking up, you can lose yourself in the darkness of the sea.On the beach level, two double bedrooms, each ensuite bathrooms complete the suite.Both rooms have access to the spectacular veranda that leads you directly on to the beach. It is absolutely lovely!

Reviewed By Ellen SThe very best location with a shallow sandy beach in front, especially good for children. Even in the middle of May the water was really warm! Big and safe parking area at no cost. A short (but steep) and beautiful walk up to the old town. At the entrance there is a small, beautiful garden with tables where they serve drinks and lunch. Breakfast is a big and good buffet served inside with beautiful sea view, and with some tables outside on the small balcony. Staff in restaurant and reception very nice and helpful. We had room 216 style "Rose di Mare" with a big private terrace and great view mainly to the old town and partly to the sea. There are 4 such rooms, the neighbour room (217?) is probably the very best, with more sea view. Comfortable room with an extra bed which sadly could not be used as a sofa, too "deep". The only bad thing in the room was the bed, the mattress was much too hard - as it is at most hotels in Italy. But we had a great stay and recommend this hotel to anybody :-) Several restaurants close to the hotel, the best was Pizzeria Mari! It looks so simple, but food (pizza, lasagna, fish) and staff are great! Bad restaurants: Neighbour Tropical (bad pizza with too much cheese, and prices higher on the bill than on the menu) and Donna Assunta at the Piazza della Liberta in the old town (very bad cold lasagna).

Room was perfect for what we asked, very clean and with a fantastic view on the beach, they also provided a cot for our little one.Parking is inside the hotel, and also the beach can be access directly from the hotel.The hotel has a strategic position , walking distance from shops and restaurants.

The room was so good with a little balcony where we enjoyed the stunning sunsets. The location is perfect and you have everything just outside the hotel. The small Alimentari just across the hotel is great and have a lot of good cheese, ham and salami. If you’re looking for a nice family run hotel with the most fantastic atmosphere - look no further. Perfect holiday

I attached a photo of our view, it was simply amazing... perfect with glass of wine in the evening and the summer breeze coming through the big window. Our holiday at this Residence was just perfect, the room was clean and spacious, bed was comfortable and kitchen was fully equipped - although you have to climb a narrow staircase to reach the sleeping area so not good if you have mobility issues. The private beach was centrally located, near lovely restaurants and coffee shops. We shopped at the local supermarket which was inexpensive and had really good produce from the local area. Everyone at the Residence and the beach was friendly, professional and extremely helpful. We had a perfect holiday and we hope to come back next year!
