10 hotels in Sanremo: Best hotel deals for 2023

August 9, 2022 Jeremy Dunfee

With a comfortable climate that varies little throughout the year, Sanremo has been a favored tourist destination since the mid-1700s, attracting visitors from all over Europe, including heavy contingents of Russian and British aristocracy. For many, the long stretch of beach is the main attraction, but don’t miss the impressive casino or the hillside medieval section of town called La Pigna. Every year since 1951, the city has hosted Italy’s popular Sanremo Music Festival.

This old and traditional hotel is now over the edge - too old. The roomes, which are not renovated are a desaster, the smell is old and overloaded ant the service at breakfast-time is a horror. They are arrogant, lazy and unfriendly. We had breakfast on the terrasse and we had to serve our breakfat by ourselve!! The ashtrees are full of cigarettes and cigars from the evening before and the buffet had the quality of a 3 star hotel. The food for dinner was only expensive - not more. So we left after one night and we are completely shure, that we never want to stay in that hotel. NEVER!!

A room with a partial view - exactly what it says on the tin!

Pleasantly surprised when we got to the hotel, having driven down into town the arrival route is a tad decrepit and I expected faded grandeur at best! The hotel on the whole is clean, smart, well maintained, the staff efficient and pleasant. We were disappointed to find we weren’t able to keep our car parked in the small hotel parking lot - hadn’t noticed any request to prebook a space on the booking website, so had to park on the busy roadside spaces - that road is ALWAYS busy! The terrace for drinks is rather lacking in ‘personality’ but does the job. The bedroom was faultless, the price spot on. We found the position ideal for a pleasant walk by the shore to the town centre and restaurants. (But others may think it a bit too much to walk to, around and back from the centre.)

Quiet hotel with great bed

Reviewed By Rahimatravels

We came on a whim staying in 2 junior suites. 1st floor had a great balcony. 4th floor had small windows no balcony. Very quiet hotel especially how close to water and center town it was the bed was terrific. And that the elevator was right outside our door never heard it. Only have 4 stars since it was a little dated inside... but that's just a taste issue. One issue... there are steep stairs into the hotel which made it very hard for my 86 year old mother in law.

Perfect location for a perfect Italian stay.

I have just spent 4 great nights here. The check in was smooth, a friendly welcome and helpful through out the stay. I had a double room, it is compact but very clean and comfortable for myself. The bed was comfy, air con worked well and the shower room appeared new and was great. Very good pressure! I had a great view from 210 over the local area and Sanremo Casino. Breakfast is served on the top floor and is a good continental mix. Fantastic views! The location is perfect, ideal for shops, restaurants, the harbour and beach, ideal for everything. Would love to visit and stay again when next in town! Thank you!

Wonderful and welcoming small hotel right in the centre, near the beach

We only stayed for a night on a way back from Venice to France but we were very impressed by the beauty of the place and most of all by the hospitality of the owners - it felt very personal and warm. The room was very comfortable and had all the amenities needed, including bath products and slippers. Breakfast was excellent and incredible value. Note that there is no elevator, so rooms with the sea view are upstairs, with a quite a staircase to climb. Then again, our suitcase were taken upstairs and down for us - much appreciated! An excellent place to stay - I recommend it without any reservations!

Just a short walk from the town centre and seafront, this hotel had lovely comfortable beds (with blissful air conditioning if you've spent the day wandering through Ventimiglia Market in 31 degree sunshine). The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful, and the breakfast options were fantastic. We really loved the sizeable balcony in our room and the pool was the perfect spot for a post-lunch pennichella!

Very Poor Service

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. They were inherently unhelpful when we needed their assistance. We recived a very poor level of service. I would advise avoiding at all costs. It is unfortunate that we felt it was required to leave such a review however the owner was not forthcoming with any form of assistance to the matter.

Nice hotel close to the sea

Reviewed By Randy S

We stopped by without a reservation and were pleasantly surprised by the nice clean appearance of the hotel. The price of 110 euros includes free parking. There is an elevator and breakfast is included. You can walk to a grocery store a block away. We met the owner and he explained the history of his family and the building of the hotel; very interesting! The pool was not yet open and the A/C was not yet turned on. Overall we were happy with our choice. Sanremo is a traffic nightmare however. Don't be in a hurry to go anywhere!!!
