10 hotels in San Teodoro: Best hotel deals for 2023

August 25, 2022 Hana Mouser

San Teodoro is a typical seaside Sardinian town, with lovely beaches, great restaurants, and a giant flock of pink flamingos. Well, maybe those flamingos aren’t so typical… but they’re certainly distinctive! Visit the San Teodoro Lagoon between beach excursions to see them and other rare birds.

Beautiful resort

Reviewed By katyspeed

My partner and I stayed here for a few days and the resort and views are spectacular. The staff are friendly and it's well managed and clean The only thing that let's this place down is the food, unfortunately this is not in line with rest of the hotel. The cooked breakfast is OK but way over cooked and rubbery but the dinner is disappointing not much choice and tasteless even the pasta was chewy and hard. I would recommend going here without all inclusive and enjoy local restaurants instead.

Hotel San Teodoro

Hotel San Teodoro is located in one of the most suggestive and amazing areas of Sardinia oriental coast, close to San Teodoro village and to the famous La Cinta beach. Hotel San Teodoro is ideal for people who look for a quiet and relaxing place to spend holidays, without renounce to live the Italian nightlife. The hotel had been renovated and extended between 2011 and 2018 following a new design concept, the building has a simple architectural style with light colors and the architecture matches harmoniously with the Mediterranean nature. The internal spaces had been projected following a minimal and simple style in order to create a wellness and relaxing environment.

I have been at much better 4stars hotel, but nice

The hotel is well situated but you need a car to get around. They also provide taxi in case you you need but it comes at a price. The reception staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was nice but you could see that the finishing details were off. The TV ( very small) didn't had many channels, with only 2 in English. In the toilet you had only a bottle of wash gel/shampoo. There wasn't even a soap for the hands. And no complimentary toiletries that you would normally find at other hotels with 3 and 4stars. The air conditioning system wasn't a proper thing and would just blow out air without any adjustment. There is a lovely swimming pool with a bar. It's a shame that you have to rent towels to use it. Again I would expect that to be complimentary. The included breakfast was nice, but I found that there should be labels on the food so that you know what they are. Some staff were very helpful with that but others were not. Overall it was a nice stay but we were there only for a couple of days.

Too expensive for what it is

I went here with my two sons (7, 10 years) in August '21 for 5 nights. Though we overall did enjoy our time, I would not recommend this hotel, at least not to international visitors. I would have given one more star if we didn't have such a bad experience when checking out. The overall price for this 'soft all inclusive' with a 5 nights stay in a relative small double with extra bed (called 'comfort double') has been more than EUR 1,700. With the 'soft all inclusive' formula, I was ready to pay extra for drinks, ice-cream and sweets that we had at the bar when checking out. What I wasn't expecting though was another bill of EUR 120,- for 'animation & club'. We could not participate into any of the animation/kid's club as it was all only in Italian language and hardly anyone of the staff spoke English, French, or German (except for reception and one of the animators) . Apart from whether participating or not, it has been the first time ever that 'animation' had to be paid extra for. After discussing with the manager and explaining to her that we did not even understand any of the animation attempts and hence couldn't participate, she said that this extra fee also has to be paid for the use of the pool, which was again a big surprise. I previously enjoyed much nicer and bigger pools without paying any extra fee for them, including in much cheaper hotels. Having said so, now the pros: - the hotel and its bungalows are build into a nice landscape with beatiful plants and a rnice view, overall the grounds are inviting and relatively close to the beach - the quality of food has been good overall at dinner and lunch, even if not too much choice (very nice anti-pasti buffet and a choice of pasta every day, but as a main 'only' one meat, one fish, and one veggie side) - most of the staff has been friendly, particularly the cleaning lady and animation team, even if communicating wasn't easy without us speaking italian - the capucchino at the bar was REALLY good, making up for some of the drawbacks and the cons: - not really suitable for international guests, apart from not being able to participate into any animation offers or understanding anything of the evening shows, it has been even difficult to communicate at the breakfast and dinner buffets what we wanted to have - some of the staff was unfriendly when not being able to speak italian and even made fun of us (at the breakfast buffet). The same person was also quite inflexible at noon, to give an example: as a desert there was chocolate and strawberry ice-cream at the top of the cooling box and vanilla just underneath, all already open. We wanted vanilla but she said that wasn't possible. - the breakfast was quite limited in offer and not of good quality (scrambled eggs were usually given cold and sludgy and bacon still soft and cold as well). Coffee and other hot drinks were only possible in self-service from the machine. - bathing caps were mandatory at the pool and no diving/jumping allowed - the sea was somewhat blurry and full of sea urchins, which made swimming difficult

Hotel grounds are well maintained and the pool area is very nice - although doesn’t seem to be cleaned very often. For example, one morning, there were ketchup smears on the table next to our loungers which clearly hadn’t been cleaned overnight. Not what you’d expect at a hotel of this price. Rooms are pretty tiny for the price, and had no view at all although it was nice to have a small private garden. There is no information in the rooms at all - when we checked out there was water on our bill from the room, and it was only then explained to us that if we drank the cold water from the mini bar we would be charged, whereas if we drank the room temperature water on top of the mini bar it would be free - hotel did remove this from the bill but it seems like a ridiculous policy and certainly something they need to make guests aware of. There is a kids club, but it didn’t involve any of the activities featured on the website eg trips to the beach etc. it has long opening hours but we wouldn’t leave our kids there inside all day, so we only used it for the odd hour here and there. it’s shame because our kids have had a great time and lovely range of activities at other hotel kids clubs. Also opening hours are sporadic. Some days it opens at 10, and some days at 11 but no one seems to know which days are which (even on the day) so it’s impossible to plan anything - it wasn’t clear to us why they couldn’t just put a sign up saying when it’s open. Worst thing about the hotel (and the main reason we would not return) is the restaurant. It’s hugely overpriced and the food is mediocre at best. Service was awful - drinks brought after starters, wrong orders etc. Most egregious are the kids meals - E22 for microwaved chicken nuggets and chips of a lower quality than a fast food chain. We eat out at nice restaurants with our kids at home and most decent restaurants will cook a nice meal for kids from scratch. This was just astonishing, especially when there are other nice restaurants nearby cooking great food at 1/3 of the price (We liked Lu Impostu restaurant at the beach). Golf buggies used by the staff in the resort are driven much too fast in pedestrian areas between the rooms. Our 5 year old daughter was very close to being run over by one travelling at high speed. Management dealt with the matter ok but then we continued to see buggies travelling at speeds that could severely injure a child for the rest of our stay so clearly the message didn’t get through. Another reason we wouldn’t go back. Reception staff generally helpful in arranging taxis etc (which are extortionate) and sorted some free drop offs when taxis couldn’t be found. However, I would not recommend getting the hotel to arrange an airport transfer - its E150 and we paid E62 with no waiting by simply taking a taxi from the taxi rank at Olbia airport. Finally, on the last night the turn down staff left our door open. Luckily nothing was stolen. All in all, whilst there are some nice things about the hotel, we wouldn’t return for the reasons above and because we thought it was pretty overpriced.

Friendly, clean and great breakfast

At first when we had booked it I was a but sceptical. I didn't like the colours, what if they had showed the nicest pictures and so on. As soon as we arrived at the hotel I felt that we would have a great stay here. First of all the hotel is located right by a bus stop so that made it so easy for us coming with the local bus arst for 3.1€ each. Then we saw that the pool was being cleaned every night. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They advised us on which beaches to see, which transport alternatives there is and helped us book a boat trip. A big plus was also that we could rent bikes for 5€ per day. The breakfast had a lot to offer so we did not have to eat the same thing every day. I also loved all the cakes that they served! The rooms was clean and the ac lovely on this hot summer of 2018. The hotel is located about 15 min walk from the town centre, but that was a good thing for us since we found two great restaurants near by and then also had walking distance to Li Mori. I would definitely stay here again!

My wife and I have just returned from a superb week at this excellent family run hotel. Lovely personal service with excellent attention to detail, spotlessly clean, rivalling many four star hotels. Rustic charm throughout beautiful landscape pool area, plentiful continental breakfast with home made jams and cakes together with fresh fruit, cereal and cold meats, selection of hot drinks served with a smile. Day time snack and pool bar. Would recommend there optional airport pick up service. Walking distance of two picturesque beaches, and selection of restaurants. You will not be disappointed at this excellent three star hotel, it exceeded our expectations.
