The only place we were ever stay in San Blas

This is one of the best hotels that we have ever stayed at in Mexico, and we've been coming to Mexico every year for 20 years. The architecture, the history, our hotel room & patio, the inner courtyard, the swimming pool, the outside landscaping, and the 200+ year old church.... Everything was amazing! We will be back again next year for sure!

Disappointing

This could be a truly wonderful Boutique Hotel. The grounds and location are beautiful......but the building is run down, the bathroom was shoddy, the room badly designed and shabby. We were told there was hot water for morning coffee but couldn’t find any. There is a spacious room and big kitchen for what could be a very nice breakfast room, but no. The staff were barely polite and reluctantly looked up from their phones when we passed by the reception desk. Again, this is a real lost opportunity for whoever owns and or runs the hotel. It could be wonderful.

A gem a few blocks off the towns main street. Easy to find. Secure parking. Clean, modern facility including in-room A/C and acceptable WiFi service. Good cell service. Staff was great. Easy walk to downtown, port, and uptown. Uptown fish fry vendors are not to be missed. I would stay here again.

Not worth the money

Reviewed By Joy B

We paid approx. $100 per night USD for a room that should have sold for $45. In the room there is a king sized bed (that's nice) with a memory foam topper (again, nice), two plain end tables beside the bed, a small dining table which is very beat up and 4 straight-backed chairs. There is a TV on top of the closet (good) and an excellent air conditioner (very good). But there are no drawers to hold your clothes, no place to sit comfortably, no trash can (one in the bathroom, that's it), no telephone to call the front desk (and no one staffing the front desk 90% of the time, although when I found the staff they were very helpful, but no English whatsoever, not even "pocito"). The screen door falls off every time we open or close it, the drapes and towels are ragged, and there's only a partial door on the bathroom. The highlight was the dead lizard on the front of the open closet (if you can call it that). The shower is paved with pebbles in concrete - very hard on the feet. The bathroom sink is a receptacle sink with a plain pipe sticking out of the wall (somebody's version of fashionable, I suppose). There is one tap so the water is whatever temperature it is with no ability to adjust the temperature and no hot water. There's only a few inches around the bathroom sink to put anything and no other place. The place could greatly benefit from some very inexpensive additions - an armchair and a chest of drawers in each room (there's plenty of space - which is a good thing) and an additional trash can in the bedroom. It IS right on the beach and that's lovely. But it's very "down market" and not well thought out for the expat traveler anyway. We're still here for a second night as I stupidly prepaid on the internet - lesson learned - otherwise we'd have gone somewhere else.

Very pleasant

We took a road trip and stayed here for a night. Gloria was absolutely wonderful. The bungalows were clean, spacious and the office will give you an electric cooktop and some pots and pans if you want. Parking is on site right below the bungalows. We also liked the fort and church in San Blas. You can see the whole city from the fort and the remains of the church was magically beautiful in the morning when the sun hits the large openings which were the church windows I imagine. Make sure you bring some bug spray when you go.

Amazing for the price, chill, and friendly staff!

Reviewed By f00dieluna

We got a place that had a functioning kitchen, an awesome high pressured hot shower, a comfortable bed, couches, and a living area, all for a very reasonable price...at least compared to the southern pacific coast. The owner, Fernando (?) is suuuuper friendly, great English and Spanish and incredibly hospitable. He is also well traveled and can give advice beyond just San Blas! The pool and hammock area is 24 hours. It is a quiet area which is nice. It's also a very short walk to the plaza and maybe a 20-25 min walk to the El Borrego beach. Only thing was the internet was not consistent though I am sure that has been fixed. All on ground floor so folks with mobility needs, no worries! I highly recommend this place!

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE; NOT WORTH IT!!! MUY MAL SERVICIO AL CLIENTE; NO VALE LA PENA!!!

We had a horrible experience at this hotel. We camped out at the beach and needed a place to leave our car in a safe location... given this hotel is closest to the marina, we decided to pay for a night to cover our parking expenses and to come in to shower the next morning after camping. Little did we know the owner or manager KICKED US OUT the morning after! We were not allowed into our room; we were kicked out of the lobby; this has been one of the worst hotel experiences in my life... and I really enjoy travelling and staying in nice hotels. TWO THUMBS DOWN!!!
