Excellent Location, Great Service, Very Rejuvenating

We went to Machaan as a group of 14 including kids and senior citizens in the first week of June 2022. Booked 5 rooms for 3 nights. Even though the the location is a bit far off from the sakleshpur town and goes through winding roads, the travel is worth it. The location of the resort is excellent, surrounded by fields on one side and the view of the hills on the other. The check in process was very smooth and handled well by Deb at the front desk. The rooms are very spacious and clean. Being Vegetarians, we were actually skeptical about the food, but all our apprehensions were put to rest. The restaurant team were very accomodative and pampered us with made to order food to suit our senior citizens, kids. Food was excellent. Special thanks to the restuarant team. The resturant has a alacarte menu for lunch and dinner during weekdays and buffet during weekends. Sumith tooks us to a nearby trek and was very keen to talk about the flora and fauna, biodiversity of the location. Very informative. His talks keeps the trek interesting. A nice swimming pool, a billiards table, table tennis, carrom and others. The organised Plantation walk within and just outside the property in the evening was very good with Sumit talking about plants. The resort also arranged for bonfire and a wildlife documentary in the evening to the liking of the kids and adults alike. Early morning walks within the property are very pleasant with birds chirping, great mountain views

The Good: -Beautiful property -Carefully curated flora, lovely and lush. -Spacious and comfortable rooms. -Polite staff The Bad: -Average food quality -The masseuses are novices. -Cheap EDM tracks played at the pool. Why play any music at all? It disturbs the peace and tranquility of the property. -Zero activities, besides the pool.

We visited Mugilu during 1st week of March 2022. The homestay experience was memorable & excellent. It provided perfect ambience to unwind and be close to the nature. You wake up to sounds unfamiliar in city environment like birds chirping which are pleasant & soothing. Also enjoyed the morning and evening walks in the grasslands and trails. The staff is helpful and took care of us including our pet dog. The food was homely and tasty. Would definitely plan to revisit.

WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY:( We had been there for a day activity and had the worst experience ever. The place was really unhygienic and was not maintained properly. And I bet the owner has not visited this property for ages nor have any concerns towards this property. Please don't believe the fake images and even there is no jetski at the property. Staff doesn't know how to talk to the guest, they just show attitude and ignore their customers. They charge 500₹ per person for a day activity and claim that we can use TT, mini golf , cycling , rope activities carrom. I have shared the pictures of the activities which were poorly maintained and not even worth 10₹. I highly recommend people (families or couple ) not to visit this property and fall into the trap of "adventure" sports

Worst ever Homestay.. DONOT book this

Reviewed By priyamuraliapril

Worst ever homestay!! Never ever go this homestay if you really care about your hard earned money. The one star is given only for the hardworking caretaker Nagaraj and his aged Father Govindappa , who do A to Z jobs at this homestay and are the only hospitable people on the property. The rooms are poorly maintained and bathrooms aren't hygienic. The pool is not maintained well too and you have algae floating all around. And donot talk about food... There is no variety at all. And food is never served hot. The person who runs the homestay Lakshmi Somanath is very ignorant and too much money minded and should take serious lessons in managing a hospitality business. She was not even aware of the menu for the day and she gives you lame reasons of "CCTV NOT WORKING" in which case she shouldn't be taking any bookings at all. She easily blames it on the workers, which shows the money minded attitude. There was literally nobody to see us off when we left othr than Mr.Govindappa who was so regretful that our mood was off. We spent our hard earned 10k on this poorly maintained property. DONOT MAKE THE MISTAKE we made. Never go this homestay. If there was a negative star ,I'd give that also

Pathetic for a claimed luxury resort .. STAY AWAY ...

Reviewed By Party24580

Me and my friends family landed here on 25th Feb (3 weeks ago) to be precise. We had a very detailed conversation regarding the pricing as it was too expensive 44K for 2 nights for 2 family. After all conversation we locked down at 42K for 2 rooms assuming its worth investing if it gives us a luxury experience for our families for 2 days. They claimed. the reason for this costing is "its one of the luxury resorts of Sakelshpur" Day 1: We ended up in the resort. Checked In. - First thing AC wasnt cooling although switching ON - Thought it will take sometime so we waited. It was same ... very hot ... in fact outside the room, it was much better so we preferred to sit outside meanwhile calling helper staff - Helper came and told it would get colder and its because of the heat outside :) . Believe me if an AC at 16C couldnt cool the room till 2 hrs ... :) - Next none of the channels (movie/ssport) was functioning which they claimed to work or rather didnt have knowledge . We knew that it was not paid for view. But we were surprised to see that the staff were not able to figure that out this channel is not paid by them and hence you woudnt get this. Instead they were saying it would work in some time. One of the helper said there is a signal issue because of a LARGE TREE outside :) :) So with all this AC and TV Mess, after 5 hours we got the room changed obviously after asking for it and atleast the AC problem got sorted out after that. Point here is SERVICE STAFF is not well equipped to handle queries on Maintaince for a claimed luxury resort. It was even. pathetic considering a normal 2-star resort experience in that sense - Amenities are as usual as any other 2-3 star resort. View to be honest not great. Swimming pool is normal. Food was good. - We had a nature walk leading to a river trail again not really amazing. - Room Cleaning was not throughout 2 days and only done when asked for. - Kayaking in Man made lake timing was only for few hours. Fishing was claimed to be available but wasnt the case. When we shed 44K, we do expect a WoW experience which to be honest didnt get for 2 days we stayed. All we did was stay in the room and watch cricket and kabaddi matches which we could have done in Bangalore at our home. If you want a true LUXURY RESORT experience STAY AWAY from this resort. there is nothing near by this resort to experience as well so you will be stuck here. You need to go with their package outside which again is 8000 Rs + . After shedding 44K any additional expense is too much to bear.

An ordinary Home stay... don't expect too much

Reviewed By MilesandSmiles N

The Manager (so called) is just a hang out and has no knowledge of anything either within the Home stay or of Sakhleshpur tourist spots. His only interest is to go to gym everyday and was sorta rude in solving problems. Though the rooms are nice and big, but No AIRCONDITIONING...so a do not visit when in summer. One of the rooms there was water leakage and Geyser was not working..... The food is simple...but the cooking staff is nice and smiling and ready to help. They did a barbeque chicken which was very nice. Unfortunately the cooks cannot make food as desired but only as instructed by the owners who sit in Bangalore. Remote control often fails. The outside maintenance is also very poor with so much greenery one could have made a beautiful place. The owners sit in Bangalore so not much involvement in looking after the property. The WiFi facility is through a dongle so very erratic. For everything you have to remind the so called manager. One morning there was no water and he had to be woken up to put the motor ON.
