Alunan Resort

Alunan Resort is the only contemporary resort on Pulau Perhentian Kecil, Malaysia with 18 spacious, double-story suites furnished with modern architecture. Covered in floor-to-ceiling glass panels designed to capture majestic views of the ocean and rain forest, each suite opens up to a private rooftop sun deck on the top floor where a hammock and sun loungers awaits. Due to the design of our resort which is built on a hill, there are many steps and stairs to consider. We apologize that we are not able to provide wheelchair access and our resort may not be suitable for senior citizens and children under the age of 12.

1.The beach and the ocean is amazing. Soft white sand beach and the ocean so clear. It is really good for honeymoon because most of the time the ocean in the Hotel private beach is calm, shallow and perfect for couple. Feeling romantic. You can snorkeling anytime around of the resort, also can see baby shark especially on the morning view. ? 2- As for the room, extremely clean, spacious but hidden from seaview. Im a little bit sad with the view. The private rooftop also same hidden from tree can't see so much with the seaview?. However the anniversary Decoration is good. You. Make us smile. Tq you so much. 3- The staff is super duper nice and they trying their best to help guest.everytime you met them always ask guest its everything ok? We went the snorkeling and we're not lucky because no shark we found and only 1 turtle we found. Anyhow, we are enjoy during snorkeling and with snorkeling team? 7- Even though the resort was in full capacity the beach wasn't crowded because the hotel offers so many activities to do around.Night activity i really love with fire show performance.. Arghhh best best best!! 8.The staff were lovely and the restaurant had excellent food.you have great great Chef!! All the taste are super duper best especially the sambal belacan very unique. 9. Great trip overall, but the resort could do better

Reviewed By xuminarc

1. We had a great time on the boat, the snorkelling trip, and the view was amazing. We checked in on Thursday, and we felt like having the resort to our own. The resort became busier on Friday & Saturday. 2. Booking, checking in & out was quick and hassle-free. 3. The resort is near to the jetty; therefore, we did not have to walk very far. 4. The quality of the food was above average. Foods were cooked deliciously. The buffet choice was plenty, considering the COVID-19 pandemic. 5. The resort facilities, however, could use several improvements: 1. The room should be maintained regularly. The management cannot depend on complaints from the guests alone. Have a regular inspection and repair program. 2. Housekeeping is basic. Toiletries (shampoo) still contains Methylparaben. 3. The bathroom is huge, it should have a physical separation between the shower area 7 the toilet to avoid the bathroom floor from getting wet. 4. The hot water is only available during the day when solar power is abundant. 5. There were no TV channels. After some troubleshooting, we still got no TV, and we were advised to change our suite. At the new suite, we still got no TV. Then the staff at the Reception explained that the antenna was struck by lightning. The staff could have been truthful in the first place. 6. We noticed some rubbish was left at a spot without proper disposal. We also saw a giant lizard rummaging the trash. This poses a health & safety hazard. 6. Compliance to COVID-19 SOP: 1. No temperature screening equipment. 2. Staffs were not wearing face masks/face shields at any time we were there. 3. No movement control/physical distancing during the breakfast buffet. The staff must take proactive controls; they cannot depend on the guests because they were hungry. This resort is a best-seller, but please proceed with caution.

The Bubu Villa is the BEST!! You must come try the Hotel and the Food!

Absolutely fantastic stay all around, six years in Malaysia but our first trip for diving and the beach at Perhentian and we'll be back to stay only at the BuBu Villa. Family room was comfortable for 5, well laid out but as many have noted, the service and friendless of staff are just fantastic and made our stay so memorable. Rosie and the whole staff at the desk and facilities are just awesome, and we so loved the free evening cocktails and canopies by the water each day at 5pm! But the standout and the reason we must come back was Claudio, hotel manager, chef extraordinaire and good guy all around. From a little town not far from Rome, Italy but a long time resident of Malaysia, Claudio is a magician in the kitchen and his food added such flavor and fun to our entire experience. We'd return to the Bubu just to have the Veal Milanese with mash potatoes (a special request we so appreciated), the lobster linguine, rigatoni in truffle crème with smoked duck and spaghettini el Nero diseppia! And don't miss out on the amazing pannacotta and chocolate lava cake! Oh, and the trofie pasta Genovese-style....my goodness that was delish! Literally every night was a feast, and we'd eat nowhere else but there at the hotel. Breakfast was great as well, they have a great little spa that we loved and the ambience is just perfect with the collection of Nipah palm umbrellas scattered across their quiet area of beach. Kudos to Yaakub and his team of divers at Turtle Bay Divers as well, we loved our trips out into the beautiful waters of the East Coast Malaysia with their team. In short, come for the sun, diving and beach but stay for the food, friendliness and relaxation beautifully executed by Claudio and his team at the Bubu Villas!

BuBu Long Beach Resort stands out from the crowd for a number of reasons. The Resort has 38 hotel-style rooms, most with their own balcony and all with en suite bathrooms. Our Deluxe Rooms, located on the first and second floors, come with either a sea view or a side sea view – so you can look right out onto Long Beach and the clear blue South China Sea beyond. Nice jungle rooms in middle of island, clean

Reviewed By williamlye

Decent rooms, clean and simple- with good service. Rooms are simple with Airconditioning and bright airy rooms. Only lacking was a water heater (that is if you like hot showers!). Fuss free, located in the middle of a hilltop- between coral beach and Long Beach. It’s about a 12 mins hike uphill from coral beach jetty or a 5 mins stroll from Long Beach. Good for those wanting a simple fuss free accomodation in a jungle hilltop!

Recommended for travelling divers

Reviewed By Glen S

I’d absolutely recommend Ombak to travelling divers. The layout is great and affords maximum enjoyment with minimum effort. Dive boats are right out front on the beach, the open air bar / restaurant fronts onto the sand, behind the bar is the dive centre and behind the dive centre is the accommodation. Ombak Divers is a slick outfit. I’ve dived around the world and rarely come across a better operation. The team are highly capable but super friendly, the kit is good, there are numbered crates for your gear, and specific wash tanks for various bits of equipment. The diving is good too, It’s not deep but the coral and wildlife is healthy, plentiful and varied. I saw stuff here that I hadn’t seen elsewhere. The location of Ombak Dive Chalet is right on Coral Beach which has bars and restaurants, but is quieter than nearby Long Beach. The food at Ombak is good. They serve alcohol and they also have an on-site bakery which is ideal for an apres-dive snack. The accommodation is posh by local standards / basic by international standards, but it’s perfectly comfortable and gives you everything you need. Rooms have a good bed, air-conditioning, a room safe and an ensuite bathroom with electric shower and western toilet. My daily routine started with a one minute walk from my room to breakfast. After breakfast, a 30-second walk brought me to the dive centre. After kitting up, it was a one-minute walk to the dive boat for the morning’s two tank dive. We’d arrive back at Ombak around 12.30pm in time for lunch. The afternoon dive was at 3pm and some nights there was an optional night dive at 7pm. In between all that it was easy to grab a shower, a snack, or at the end of the day, a cold beer in the open air bar. Hard to beat.

Basic, Comfort

Reviewed By mahzuzzain

I have stayed at drock garden few times and this resort will be my number one list if I am going to long beach perhentian. I will always booked the a/c standard chalet without any meals option. Pros : Great seaview from our room. Comfy stay. 24hr electicity supply. Cons: Up in the hill. Basic room amenities ie towel, soap bar, shampoo. Most staff does not seem to understand english. Overall I can say this resort was pretty basic. Suitable for those who are not expecting any luxury and just want to enjoy the sun, sea and the view.

Starving and bad experience trip

Reviewed By Tourist28753621588

Room average, not much facilities, good and friendly reception but the ombak cafe is terrible. The staff attitude is terrible and rude. Don’t take the package basically it is not buffet (multiple choice), it just simple rice, chicken, Vege and eggs n most important, make sure u go early, else u will need to eat those left over. If u ask any refill, they will just walk away like non of their business, n when u try to to order ala carte menu, they will tell u they r very busy and everything also don’t have. Burger out of stock, pizza out of stock.. When u continue follow up then what am I suppose to eat, they will just fried a noodles and tell u.. go n eat the refill with the sarcastic face and keep nagging behind (hey, I understand ur language between). Seriously? That’s the attitude? Maybe u r the only proper cafe on the beach but we pay for the foods not ask for free. Hope u improve ur service. Just go if u love to starve urself and enjoy the bad attitude cafe staff in Ombak. Worst island trip ever in my life. ??????????

Nice beach with corals and coconut trees facing to South China Sea

Reviewed By Nelson170017

The resort is located at Coral Beach and I love the beach because it is not crowded as Long Beach, you would find many unbreachable corals in the sea, and there is a sea platform that allows you to see the whole seaside in the middle of the sea. And you can have a sunset view while having your dinner in the restaurant of the resort. The only thing I was not satisfied with the bathroom is not that clean, and the bedroom wasn't reached my expectation, but overall I had a good experience and it is suitable for backpackers but not suitable for those looking for luxury accommodation experience.
