Easy check in, rooms were large, with good quality beds and en suite, well equipped. Large restaurant , breakfast buffet with reasonable selection and fresh produce. Modest car park, in a secure compound. A good nights rest, recomended

Reviewed By AjarnBobCheck in was fine. The front desk clerk was good… efficient and polite. They have secure parking next to the hotel. Wifi is good and free. There is a small elevator to get you and your bags upstairs… big enough for only two people with luggage or three without luggage. Our room is very small and the twin beds are stiff and uncomfortable, barely giving to the weight of your body at all. This will enable the beds to last a lot longer, which is good for the hotel, but not so much for the guests. There’s a room safe, LCD TV, and our window looks out to the another interior wall of the hotel about 10 feet away. Although it’s windy outside, there’s no breeze through this window. Fortunately the air conditioner is functional. The bathroom door sticks in the door frame, requiring a little extra force to get it to pop open. We are falling asleep (or not) at 11:00 pm to high volume karaoke either across the street or next door. I suggest you pass on this one and keep looking for a hotel in Catamarca.

Nice on the ground level
Reviewed By AjarnBobThis hotel/restaurant has a certain rustic old-world charm. The front desk people were very nice and quite welcoming. Our room had a full size bed on the ground floor, but the two twin beds were in a loft. The A/C was located on the ground floor level, so it was not possible to chill the air sufficiently for anyone staying in the loft. Other than that, everything under the hotel's control was fine. There was a very nice courtyard with sitting areas and a L-shaped pool. The beds were very comfortable. Out of their control was that immature youngsters drove their cars at all hours of the night trying to out-subwoofer the others. For that reason, I would not stay in Tinogasta again, but if I did, I’d stay at the Casagrande again.

La habitación es muy amplia y super limpia. La ducha espectacular y por la manera te sirven el desayuno. También se puede cenar, todo comida casera. Sin duda lo volveríamos a elegir.

A few blocks from Fiambala park we find the imposing family home del Pino. Surrounded by ancient olive trees this important house is the first built in the area, although its exact date of construction is not known we could estimate that the same round the year 1850. Its thick adobe walls, ceilings cane and mud and huge doors carob take us to the nineteenth century

Reviewed By estrangerThe magnificent owner (Carlos) arranged for a member of his magnificent staff (Carola) to open the property for us on a holiday where the entire house was closed, so that we could arrive a day early and stay two nights. What service! Fiambalá is not the most tourist-friendly of towns, despite its stellar bunch of tourist attractions. Casona del Pino is a hotel that wouldn't be out of place in Buenos Aires or Cordoba, but in the middle of a tiny frontier town. It's very clear the owners and staff care deeply about the property, and keep it in a state of maintenance that honors its storied past. Last but not least, breakfast (the homemade bread...mmm) was excellent and always personalized by Carola's attention.
