10 hotels in Pozzuoli: Best hotel deals for 2023

August 9, 2022 Marlin Saiz

Just a few miles west of Naples (and easily reached by train), the ancient seaside city of Pozzuoli is probably best known for its bradyseism, a raising and lowering of the Earth’s surface due to underground volcanic activity. Many sites remain from Pozzuoli’s days as an important Roman port, including the Macellum or Temple of Serapis, which for many years was submerged under water. The Flavian Amphitheater (Italy’s third-largest) and the Cathedral of Rione Terra are other popular attractions.

Just perfect !!!

Having spent a week in Naples a few years ago, I wanted a base to stay for 11 nights while I toured around Campania in a rental car. As such I did a lot of research to ensure I found the right hotel. I wasn't disappointed. The location is convenient, being a five minute drive to the main roads that will get you round Campania. Also, a five minute walk to Arco Felice station getting you to the centre of Naples easily. The neighbourhood is more local, rather than touristy, which I liked. Free parking at the rear of the hotel, and a gas station just 100 metres away that had the cheapest fuel I saw. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and Gennaro, the owner I assume, was exceptionally accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble, and his English was way way better than my Italian. My room (111) was excellent, with a view over the bay. The bathroom was rather small, but was not a problem. People larger than me may struggle with the shower though. The real bonus for me was that the room had Sky Sports so that I could watch the mighty Spurs conquer all ..... well, they did while I was there!! Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice, and even a machine to squeeze oranges. I think they do dinner, but I wasn't too sure as I never saw anyone in the restaurant while I was there. Plenty of eateries within walking distance anyway. All in all, an excellent hotel representing good value for money, and I really hope I get back there at some time.

A good location with no, but really no kind of organisation. We never in our life saw a staff with such a bad professional education. In 2 days we had 2 wedding-parties and 1 children-birthday in front of our room. Definitely no accomodation for private travellers.

Nice location beautiful swimming pool , but closes at 1730

Reviewed By tonv190

We liked this Agriturismo but one very big negative is that the swimming pool is open for the public , they pay entrance fee, lots of locals with small children, but biggest negative is that the pool closes at 1730. After a day of walking and traveling in the heat it would be nice that you can go for a swim after 1730 while it was still 30c . Must be a real frustration if it would be August at 38c. We travel to Italy for 20 years always camping and Agriturismo but we never were faced with a pool Close at 1730. The reasons given, the pool needs time to be cleaned as it is a biologic pool. Fine, why not start cleaning two ours later and open 2 hours later in morning . This is the only reason why we would not come back to this place .

Stayed at the Tiro a Volo for five nights in February

Reviewed By MikeHCalgary

My adult daughter and I stayed for five nights at the Tiro a Volo. We had room 303 which was a very large room on what we would think of as the second floor in the main building. What we liked: Very large room, very clean and daily housekeeping was excellent and the bed was very comfortable. There was also a large patio off of the room. Lot's of parking for the car in a well lit parking lot beside the hotel which was very safe and secure. What we didn't like: The room was dark, not a big deal to us but others may not like it. The bathroom had a small bathtub and a handheld shower head but no shower current or anything else so it was a bit awkward. It would also have been nice if there was at least plastic furniture on the desk. The staff was very nice but spoke little to no English. Not an issue unless you were looking for advice or guidance. We enjoyed staying in Pozzouli but you really would want a car if you are staying at this hotel.
