Reviewed By esquire838Depending on what you want to do in the evening ie stay in and dine simple nearby then this place is nice and quiet with two 24-hr cheap eats and a chinese coffee shop. If you are looking for night walks along the esplanade then another hotel may suit you better. This hotel operates from 1st floor and have rooms on 1st and 2nd floor. No lifts. Its a shop-lot conversion type not a standalone building. For the price, you get value for money as they have satellite tv and coffee making facility. Ironing is in common area. They even gave me 2-hrs complimentary municipal parking coupon to avoid getting a ticket. Check in is a breeze and reception was friendly.

Clean budget hotel
Reviewed By boocik04This is a clean budget hotel. Above a Malay restaurant. This hotel does not serve breakfast but if you expect to get breakfast from the Malay restaurant downstairs, you'd be dead wrong because it only opens at 12.30 pm. The toilet is very small but everything is in working order, the bed is comfortable and the airconditioning is a welcome after a day out in the heat.

Reviewed By 321juliustNice hotel and clean. The hotel is at second and 3rd floor. Generally the family room is quite big and the bathroom is quite precious too. The challenge is with old people not able climb to 3rd floor. Find that overall is good and comfortable stay.

Could have been better, abit run down & a let down
Reviewed By Isis71Stay there in Sept, as most "resort" don't entertain couples or 2 pax, we chose Hotel Tong San. When we arrival there we were told that we cannot park our car at merrybrown Resturant carpark (it was suggested by Tong San's staff via email that we can park there) we were not comfortable parking our cars along the roadside as there were many lorries, trucks motorbikes going up & down the busy roads infront of the hotel. We manage to secure a parking at nearby gated office. So if you are driving there please make sure there really is a secure parking for your car ! Room was ok, if you don't mind the peeling wallpaper & some cobwebs. Toilet papers & toiletries were provided. There no hot water kettle, so if you wanna make hot drinks, you need to leave your room go to the reception area to get the hot water. Wifi was ok. We were restless & not able to sleep well during the night as we can hear the motorbikes passing by our hotel, we can even hear people talking downstair as the windows were not sound proof & to make matter worst the aircon was rather noisy during the night. This hotel don't serve Breakfast so you gotta plan for your own breakfast & your meals

Reviewed By Muinee BStayed in a 4 person family room.Very spacious. Unfortunately no view and a bit smelly. The location is superb, right in front of the jetty, and in the centre of attractions. A few restaurants right across the road. Think overPriced for the facility.

I would prefer if the pillows were a bit firmer, but they were not too bad because the hotel provided extra pillows. I had nasi lemak for breakfast and it was one of the best nasi lemak I have ever tasted in the many hotels that I have stayed at. And the coffee? It was really good. Served fresh when I arrived for breakfast. I will not hesitate to stay at The Corner House on my next trip.

Reviewed By Trip_reviewer_worldWas there to swim and try their mini water theme park. 1. Reasonable size of swimming pool but clearly not regularly maintained. Can taste the water a bit salty. Run down changing room and toilet clogged with water. 2. Entrance fee quite expensive considering the facilities provided. Quite number of visitors didn't wear entrance pass, but some did. Do not know how the management monitor 3. Saw one part time swimming trainer questioning parents who taught their children swim in the pool, as if the whole children need to learn swimming with him. 4. The good thing is the resort provides quite number of facilities in the vicinity of the district, cannot find swimming pool in other place within the same area.

Quiet and nice view
Reviewed By 321juliustBooked a room facing sea and pulau kukup. Except the bath room water pressure is low, the room is clean. Room size average considering 3 adults and 2 children's but it s nice experience venture around kukup chinese village. People here generally are friendly but the snack here are not cheap.

Reviewed By CrystalNgI was considering this hotel for my 2D1N trip to Pontian after reading review on booking.com and decided to walk in to check out the room first. There is a great discount during the current Covid19 promotion period. We went ahead to check in after confirming that the bed was comfortable since it was our main concern. However only upon check in we realise many areas of the room especially at the corner area (many hair strains) need to be dusted and cleaned. Thankful that the receptionist was very helpful and immediately came over and swept it for us although we need to clean up all the dusts on the tv and on the aircond vent. Pros: Bed is comfy, toilet is clean, Air-cons and heater are working well Cons: Room at the back facing the alley could be subjected to noise from next door restaurant as it operates until 1am. The restaurant operators set up a table behind the restaurant and talked loudly near our room and worst of all refused to lower their volume despite our request. The night shift receptionist was very helpful and immediately went over to request them to keep volume down upon our feedback albeit ignored by them. Will consider staying here again but need to choose a facing away from the backlane.
