Reviewed By Emily SThe hotel is ok. Rooms were clean and we had fresh towels everyday (unfortunately we had a dodgy toilet). The pools were also nice but the sunbeds were chained to each other so you couldn’t position them in the direction you wanted easily. Fresh orange juice at breakfast was an additional €2 per glass. There was a selection of cocktails included but branded spirits and ice cream were all added extras. Cocktails and beer were served in paper coffee cups which felt cheap. Pool towels require a €10 deposit per towel and they do not have an ATM on site. We had to go into the local village. Parts of the hotel need a spruce up, there were stained carpets down the corridors and the life size chess set has missing pieces but we improvised with t-shirts. The beach was nice but don’t forget your beach shoes as it’s very stoney. Overall, we had a pleasant stay but would rate the hotel 3*

Reviewed By Mapledurham1986Although a difficult check in at reception (assumed I didn't want a double as two males arrived) this was quickly rectified. The room was spacious, clean and had great views of the sea... Venia on reception was so helpful, great asset to the hotel, found us places to socialise, eat and drink, friendly smile and excellent manners. Should be head of greetings and train the others. All round a great stay.

Reviewed By Adrienne123WWe have just spent 6 nights at the Marathon Beach Resort after 5 days in Athens. We had a very relaxing time. The room was big and bright. The bed was very comfortable. Air con is good. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The pool area and the whole hotel is well maintained. Breakfast was plentiful, all continental cold options like cereal, cake, bread, toast, cold meats, cheese and biscuits. Never went hungry !! There is a little beach over the road. There are lots of my tavernas to choose. All were very friendly. Not that expensive. There is a coastal walk which is popular. There are turtles swimming in a stream. We had a peaceful, relaxing stay at this hotel. Would recommend.

Disappointing
Reviewed By mpmorgan1974Really disappointed with this hotel. Whilst it was clean the hotel is desperately in need of redecorating, very shabby decor and damaged furniture. Rooms also very noisy. Could hear guest next door snoring as if they were in same room. Never experienced noise like this in any other hotel. I did make reception aware but i was left very disillusioned with the response - very dismissive response by saying they would let the maid know (as if it was their responsibility). Frankly only interested in taking payment from me. Breakfast was ok. On a positive note we were warmly welcomed and staff managed to accommodate a slightly earlier book in, however in hindsight this may caused the maids to rush as we did not have items missing (no drinking glasses, no coffee) and beds were not made very well. Swimming pool is also very good. Also worth noteing that local restaurants were mostly closed. (Possibly early season- but it was also Easter holidays.) Only bars open. We had a hire car so we able to drive a few miles to find a decent restautant.

Dangerous, the worst hotel of my life
Reviewed By 48angelazAll the appliances are Outdated, lights that don't work, few plugs, very old shower with either too hot or cold water. The child with us tried to wash her hands and the barhroom sink broke to pieces on her feet (she wasn't injured thankfully).The pool is disgusting, i have never met more rude staff in my life. The bathroom smelled like urine so much it gave us nausea. Unacceptable should be closed immediately. No shower gel etc. No extra towels.

I awoke early in the morning for for my early flight and cake and coffee awaited me. Had it been a later flight I would have had the option to have my breakfast and coffee brought to me in the morning. The room, was clean amazing view of the pool and sea. Didn't want to leave. Been to Athens many times, but never to Mati. Will definiely come back here for a stay! Thank you Myrto Hotel for making my transit stay positive!

Reviewed By Pamela WThis hotel rescued us from a terrible hotel. WE were so pleased to be sent here from Hotel Avra after complaining and they treated us like royalty. We had a superior deluxe room overlooking the water from our deck and the forward windows since we were in an end unit. Greek breakfast and excellent coffee. You can have hot and cold breakfast items- it was wonderful. The water temp was not very hot but the fact that we had heat and air conditioning under our control as well as a comfy bed was nice. The staff were very accommodating and able to suggest itineraries since we were basing out of that hotel. We went to Sounion one day. Parking is a huge problem but we worked around it and really, parking is a problem everywhere in Greece. Our room was serviced daily and I can’t say enough for our views from the room. This is not a modern hotel but hey, what I care about at the sea is the view, the quiet and the food. They delivered all 3! Across the street is an excellent Taverna. My one complaint is that they allowed people to smoke in the bar and indoors in the hotel. I know this is a problem everywhere in Greece. I can’t imagine why in a socialized medicine country there aren’t more penalties forsmoking- even the young people smoke here. It’s sad.

Few hours of stay to catch Ferry
Reviewed By sheetz1985We reached Athens in the morning needed some economic place to freshen up and catch some sleep before catching up a boat to Mykonos in the late afternoon. Chose Flower Garden near Rafina Port and it worked out well and we were happy. Its no frill clean and well kept property. We went by an Uber and we found it bit out of town but that was all good as we just needed to be close to the port to catch the boat. There were few good restaurants near by. We only spoke to Kristen over the phone and it was a delight.
