Reviewed By beckylou65This is a delightful little hotel, bang in the middle of the storical center of Montefiascone. Clean as a whistle it follows ALL the safety precautions against Covid and the rooms are spotless. I go to Montefiascone often, and I always stay here. The actual building is full of authentic history and charm, and the proprietor, Luana and Daniela are friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this establishment and will always be a loyal customer. Reviewed By Inishbofin2016I can only echo the enthusiastic reviews others have already written about this wonderful hotel. We stayed in the "Ametista" bedroom which was quite beautiful, with wonderful views over the rooftops of Montefiascone and the countryside beyond. It was lovely to see Viterbo winking to us at night in the distance, and the Monti Cimini in the background. Our room was bright, spacious, utterly peaceful, extremely comfortable, beautifully decorated with even a certain sense of luxury, without being over the top. The bathroom was wonderful for us, though I do think they could make life easier for the cleaning ladies by adding a door to the shower cubicle so that the water doesn't spill out! (it's closed on 3 sides, but open on one side which might suit some people). An independent heating system allowed us to manage the highly efficient heating according to our needs (we left it off in the daytime, but it was lovely to be able to have a warm cosy room within literally a couple of minutes on chilly April nights. We were grateful for the hotel's trust on this issue, since usually after April 15th, all heating is turned off in Italian hotels. We were also highly conscious of the current energy crisis, especially in the way it's impacting Italy, so we used the heating responsibly and appreciated being allowed to do so). We slept like babies in our very comfortable bed. It was also lovely to be able to take breakfast at our leisure in the Café next door to the hotel, with delicious fresh croissants, using the vouchers supplied to us by the hotel. For an extra 2€ (or perhaps even less - I know it was minimal) we also ordered fresh orange juice which was a treat. And for anyone looking for picnic supplies (for hiking down to Lake Bolsena, for example, a wonderful and overall easy walk, if long) the Café also makes excellent fresh sandwiches. The design and style of the hotel is unique! 1920's Art Deco, with modern touches. To crown everything, I cannot praise the staff highly enough, who were kind, friendly, and super-efficient. From the moment I made contact over the phone to our arrival at the train station in Montefiascone to find Alessandro from the hotel waiting for us with his own car, we felt incredibly well looked-after (the train station in Montefiascone is a few kilometres outside of town and it can be difficult to find transport, but the hotel do everything to ensure that this will not be a problem, they even called us on their own initiative the day before our arrival to say that Alessandro would meet us. What more can I say...). Alessandro was a fountain of information, was on hand for any questions, spoke fluent English and was kindness itself (as was Catiuscia, who unfortunately we did not get to meet but who was always available on the phone for any queries). Overall, a wonderful stay that definitely makes us want to come back!

Reviewed By Gun LThe hotel has a marvellous view over the lake. It was wonderful to be able to lie in bed and enjoy sunset and dawn. The hotel is situated just outside the old town close to Via Francigena.The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Reviewed By GKavanaghDublinThis Hotel is situated about 7 minutes drive from Montefiascone and you need a car if you are staying here , we stayed for 2 nights and were pleasantly surprised with the Commenda , First the Hotel itself is small and has an adjoining coffee area and restaurant ,all of which are good , the main Hotel is very clean and Homely the rooms are small but nice and very clean .our hosts Barbera and ( Little ) Edwardo were excellent and went out of their way to ensure we had an enjoyable stay . The restaurant has a good selection of food and a huge range of Pizza , a good selection of wine at reasonable prices , |Breakfast is also served to your table in the restaurant and while it is a little limited it certainly is sufficient , and once again every member the Staff were most friendly and helpful , The onluy thing lacking is a room to relax in the evening with comfortable chairs , having said that the Hotel is great and the staff are wonderful .

Fairly good value for money
Reviewed By jereppaThe room was clean, nice and the view from there was excellent. The owner was friendly. Unfortunately, the hotel doesn't service any breakfast (maybe we were only visitors and outside the season?) and the elevator was the slowest I have ever seen. Wifi was only in the lobby.

Reviewed By Paul HStayed at La Bertina on my way to Rome when walking on the Via Francigena. Whilst mainly staying at Pilgrim Ostellos on the trip, it was good to occasionally stay at more comfortable accomodation and this was by far the best! It's excellently located not far from the centre of the town. A large bedroom with huge bed and private bathroom and a huge breakfast in the morning was everything one needed and excellent value too

La prima cosa che noti appena entri è la puzza di muffa, le camere fanno scena ma scomode, il bagno sporco con prodotti da bagno con barattoli usati da altre persone e per di più vuote, asciugamani da scena ma non asciugano, due asciugamani per tre notti!!!! Non ti azzardare ad aprire la finestra che i rumori non ti fanno dormire..... Vetri sporchi!!! Nella sala colazione piccola è puzzolente di muffa, non ci potevi stare se non avevi la porta aperta, quei piccoli vasi sui tavolini patetici fatti con gli avanzi delle bomboniere... Abbiamo lasciato nel cestino mignon del bagno i rifiuti.... E la signora ha detto che abbiamo lasciato di tutto.... Specifico 1 bottiglietta di acqua vuota e salviette struccante.... Diciamo non sapeva dove attaccare. Non sapevo che dovevo fare pure le pulizie.... Ahhhh cara signora lei nella sua risposta ci ha offeso... Dicendo che persone anziane non sanno viaggiare.... Bene per sua informazione noi viaggiamo mensilmente da oltre 10 anni e le posso assicurare che un posto come il suo malcurato non li avevo mai trovato.
