The 4 star Barracuda Hotel Resort is located in Marina di Campo, a town considered the "Pearl of 'Isola d' Elba", not far from the large white sandy beach and 500 meters from the picturesque center of the village. The resort, renovated in 2017, is surrounded by 3,500 square meters of tropical garden, which includes the essences and plants from around the world. The great and renewed electrolysis pool offers moments of relax, while the jacuzzi under the palm, a touch of pure pleasure. The grill bar in the garden offers daily tasting of dishes based on fish and accompanies the evening hours with tempting appetizers prepared by the Chef. The Resort has 51 rooms divided into four categories: Classic (14 sm) , Balcony ( 16 sm), Junior Suites (32 sm) and an exclusive Prestige Suite (40 sm). Our cooking prepared using only local food, it's perfect to taste the italian authentic tradition, with a large selection of sea food and meat food. All rooms are serviced by lift and has the free WI-FI access Each room also has a parking space in the private car park with a numeric code input.
A great restaurant with a hotel
Reviewed By zvalimWe stayed here for 6 nights on a half-pension program with kids. The overall experience was very pleasant and there's a lot to like about the place, including the service, the arrangement of the outside space, cleanliness of the pool and particularly the food. The food deserves a specific mention. Breakfast is good though missing vegetables for those used to them and a bit limited on the warm dishes which are eggs/bacon. Dinner though is absolutely spectacular and we found ourselves tasting almost everything. In terms of the value proposition of the hotel that dinner is the shining star. The room we had (for 4) was spacious and kept very clean by room service. The A/C system worked perfectly, and the windows buffered well the limited noise from the outside. However, modern amenities such as USB charging station were absent, the wi-fi was slow, and most important, there was very weak warm water pressure, which becomes an issue when multiple people need to shower daily, perhaps more than once. A final oddity: in the room there is a capsule based coffee machine, but it is considered part of the mini bar and you are charged per capsule used. This is a bit strange given the nightly rate; one would expect tea/coffee to just be provided gratis.

Hotel is very nice, clean and fragrant We had a room with terrace and direct sea view (thank you Mr. director)!!! This room have a excellent view. The dinner in this hotel is very very tasty - thank you to people who prepared the food! Staff on reception, in the restaurant and others are on high professional level. Elena and her team run a well organised, warm and spotless hotel and clearly take great pride in their work. She gave excellent recommendations re local restaurants, services and activities and could not have been more helpful. She personally accompanied us with an umbrella to a nearby establishment during a thunderstorm. The hotel rooms offer all the basics. Many have balconies, and there is a communal outdoor seating area and rooftop sun lounging area with views to the sea in front and trees/mountains at back. Location of hotel is excellent, one street away from the beachfront. Breakfast is buffet style with range of sweet and savoury food including cheese, eggs, and freshly-brewed coffee. If you are looking for a well located hotel in marino di campo with fantastic personal service, I would definitely recommend hotel Mistral.

Two suites with a stunning view on the gulf of Marina di Campo are available, both with a wide balcony and beach chairs. Our restaurant La Veranda proposes dishes which are prepared with prime quality staples, used by Chef Marwan Grottoli in a cuisine that is oriented to the territory and at the same time to new food trends, everything served in a nice and bright atmosphere by the staff of Maître d'Hotel Carmine Mega. Our bar Il Cassero, open all day, offers a wide choice of wines, beers and cocktails. Sweet and salty snacks are available.

Nice little hotel with a personal touch
Reviewed By Nessi-3The hotel was recommended on the website of the diving center we wanted to go to. So we booked a room for one week. The hotel is conveniently located as for the dive center (Spiro Sub) as for the rest of Marina di Campo. We did all by foot, although getting to the far end took us 25 minutes. If you don't want to walk, the hotel has (very basic) bicycles to use for free. The room was very clean, airy and very nicely decorated in blue hues as was the bathroom. There is enough storing space in the room and a practical rail on the balcony for drying bathing suits without having to compromise on sitting space. We enjoyed idling on the balcony very much watching all passers by be it on foot, bike or scooter. Usually I don't fancy air-cons due to the noise but this one could be set on silent mode which really was silent. The food in the small restaurant is simple but oh so very delicious. If you don't want the hassle of having to search for another place to eat (we really had some problems to find tables in other restaurants for the same evening), one could eat all the week in the little restaurant and not be bored. As to the breakfast, it was the only downside. We were always pressed for time due to the early hour we had to be at the diving center. When we arrived for breakfast at 7.30h they just started to bring the food to the served buffet. So we always took first the self-service stuff like crispbread, fruit and yoghurt and if we still had time went for the pancakes, brioches and other yummy things that were served by the staff and took some time also because of the queueing. The owners and all the staff are very helpful and friendly, they couldn't do better. If we return to Elba, without any hesitation we would choose the Meridiana again.

Nice hitel
Reviewed By Joan PStaff were very pleasant and helpful. The room was large with a balcony looking out over the bay. Breakfast was the usual continental style for a couple of days then at the weekend some extra, hot food, was added. The evening buffet was disappointing and we thought expensive for what it was. Not a lot of choice. The pool looked quite nice although we did not have time to use the facilities. We still had to pay the Club fee of €40 for it though. All in all we really enjoyed our stay on Elba it is a really beautiful island.

June 22 and still with covid restrictions

Hotel rooms are in bad need of makeover: shower runs hot and cold intermittently, sink plug broken, ancient electric points and lighting, aircon struggles. Meals are a shadow of previous wide choice: evening meal is now a buffet which you have served canteen style with no english menu. Breakfast is a meagre selection of bite size rolls and muesli or granola, some fresh fruit and a bit of streaky bacon and scrambled egg. No marmalade, only peach jam and a croissant if there are any left. The worst part is that you have to queue up for each section to be served with an organisation that would make Basil Fawltey proud. I wanted to find another hotel but my wife couldn't face moving all our stuff so we stayed but I won't be back anytime soon.

A pleasant stay
Reviewed By jasonmerlinz1The location and the breakfast at this place are great. Few meters far from the beach and the restaurants. It makes many things easier. In the morning the breakfast was lovely with a lot of kind of jam and others….. Our room was ok. A bit small and pretty old style as the picture that you can see here. Anyway all the important things was ok and for us it's enough. Maybe a bit too expensive for what they offer, but good.

Decent hotel

Our room was clean and comfortable, the bathroom had a big walk-in shower. Both people at reception were polite and helpful. All in all, good value for money and with a very convenient free-parking. Would recommend for a short stay.
