10 hotels in London: Best hotel deals for 2023

August 6, 2022 Joeann Galban

Ancient tradition and contemporary trend meet in age-old London. One of the most cosmopolitan and dynamic destinations on earth, for centuries the British capital has been on the forefront of whatever has been deemed cutting edge, en vogue, and topical. A thriving metropolis of several million people with a global reach and a worldly outlook, London is at its heart a series of small, interconnected villages with the framework and infrastructure of a modern city joining them together, yet seldom denying each its own distinctive character.

Perfect stay at the Intercontinental Park Lane

Reviewed By 378willd

I've just had the most amazing hotel stay at the Intercontinental London Park Lane for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee weekend. As I had tickets for the Platinum Part at the Palace I wanted to be walking distance to the venue and this hotel is ideally located just the other side of Green Park. I booked a newly refurbished Mayfair rooms and it did not disappoint. My room was just perfect. I love the decor and the bathroom was incredible. The bed is super comfortable and I was really impressed with the attention to detail in the bedroom and bathroom that made my stay more enjoyable. Breakfast was outstanding with a wide variety of items to choose from on a hot and cold buffet as well as items you can order from a menu. Service was quick, efficient and friendly. The Club Lounge was also excellent with friendly and attentive staff, delicious snacks and drinks available and lovely quiet areas and outstanding views. What made my stay exceptional though was the service from the team. Every single person I encountered made me feel very welcome and exceeded my expectations. Special mentions have to go to Yu Heng, who check me me in, who was delightful and made me feel a valued guest. Also Sylwia and Sofia on reception and Sandra in the breakfast room all delivered outstanding customer care. I was super impressed by this hotel and I can't wait to return.

Great location, hotel was nice

Reviewed By gsgman777

I stayed with my wife and son (20) in a junior suite. I chose this hotel because of the location and we like the smaller boutique hotels. Location was great, perfect for walking to key sites as well as plenty of shopping and dining. The hotel was pretty clean, some of the staff were super nice and others were just okay. Beds were not the most comfortable and (as expected) there was some noise from the outside. We had a view of some city buildings and the London Eye was peaking over the top of them as well. Overall very happy with the stay and would definitely consider again if we make it back to London.

The staff is sooo welcoming and corporative with smile all of the time. The location is quite and not noisy. It is 2 minutes walking to the underground station and a bus stop just front of the hotel. The room is very nice with very comfortable bed with nice shower. Stayed there for 6 nights and would go again if I am back to London.

The Clermont, Charing Cross

A landmark itself, Charing Cross opened in 1865 and remains one of the most well-places hotels. A few steps to Trafalgar Square. A minute's stroll to London's West End, A stone's throw away from The National Gallery and so much more. And when exploring more of the city, Charing Cross station is right next door.

What a little gem of a hotel .

I recently had a 5 day stay in London and the PGK did not disappoint. Literally a couple of minutes walk from Earl's Court Tube Station and less than 10 minutes walk to Kensington High Street. So you have plenty of choice re transportation and a fab selection of local eateries to suit everyone. My stay at the PKG was made all the better by the lovely and efficient team from the Reception to Housekeeping. I requested a room change to a higher floor (there was nothing wrong with the original room, just as a solo traveller the lower ground floor wasn't ideal for me) and even though it was Jubilee weekend and the hotel was busy, this was facilitated within minutes of request and with a smile and one of the team even accompanied me to ensure the room was suitable. The new 5th floor room was huge with a bed to match, which was extremely comfortable. A decent sized closet with plenty of hangars provided. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided, together with iron and board and a great professional style (!) hairdryer (so often lacking in hotels or it's a small inefficient one). A handy safe for all of your valuables and a great size fridge (there is a well stocked M&S store near to the tube station, which was ideal, plus a Sainsburys on the next block) this was a Godsend for keeping drinks and snacks cold overnight. The microwave was really convenient to have too. I had very early starts daily and no breakfast included with my plan at the hotel, so these facilities was extremely useful. Bottled water was provided daily in the room and toiletries in the bathroom. The shower was extremely powerful, with a rainshower and a hand held also located on the bar. Water temperature was super and never cold, be it early morning or late evening . The towels were plentiful, soft and fluffy. I was missing the TV remote but housekeeping arrived just minutes after my call to Reception to provide a new one. There is heating and air-con which you can control yourself and a doorbell which lights up as well as ringing on a wall panel. There are plenty of wall sockets and a USB socket. A couple more of those would be useful, but I took a multi USB so this wasn't an issue for me. The lighting in the room was plentiful with overhead, mirror, spotlights, bedside and reading lamps. Honestly, they have thought of everything. I didnt eat at the PGK but the restaurant/bar was always busy at breakfast and again in the evening, which is a good sign. The rooms were spotless and look as though they have been upgraded fairly recently, especially the bathroom (this isn't large, especially if you have kids and need more than a couple in there at a time, but is fine if not). I didnt get the name of all the team, but thank you to Anna and Rohan who were very pleasant and helpful. I would definitely stay here again and will recommend it to my family, friends, and of course to my travel clients when they book for London. Thank you everyone for making my stay so enjoyable and for all of your hard work in providing a friendly and professional service :)

Comfortable two nights stay in good location

I don’t like giving 5 nor 1 stars as there is always something good and always something to improve, but this time i just could not justify taking a star off. Room was clean, staff excellent , polite and very helpful and location brilliant. We stayed during bank holidays and we were not aware of breakfast being served later than usual, As we had plans for a day we showed up downstairs exactly at 6.30 to find out restaurant is not open till 7. Staff seen our disappointing and a big of panic so they opened for us earlier !!! Breakfast was simple , but really good quality , better than in Alton Towers where overnight costs 3 time price of here. Kids loved it. Rooms again as expected, but more than ok for a short stay. Clean and comfortable. Loved the fact , there was a working mini fridge, hairdryer and iron. I know it’s a basic , but in many hotels this gadgets are not in working condition.Maybe only tiny minus is paying for parking £18 per 24 h and not enough channel On tv .
